Spring Fling

Something bright and cheery today. With it being April and just about Easter, I am so ready for something springy. I made this page the other day when it didn't even hit 40 degrees.
Come on spring. Its time to arrive and stay here, not just wander in and then flit away.

I started with this springy background which is made with several colors of paint and a diamond background stencil- plus a few other assorted stenciled spots where I was cleaning off a stencil from another project. All this created my Easter color background.
I decided I would only use scraps of paper to finish my page.(I really really need to use up some of the scraps in my bin- it is starting to overflow...) I had this piece of leftover embossed and spray inked paper in my scrap bin which I had previously die cut a rectangular background out of the middle. I thought that with a little trimming it would make a great frame. That red-orange frame became the starting point for this design.
I free hand cut some abstract  tulips and stems. Then I added a bit of depth to those flowers with Copic markers, along with black and white pens. The wings word and the butterflies were sitting on my table.  I stenciled the stars with some bright red paint and finally stamped the word of the day image.
I felt like I could finish off this page with some eyelets in the frame, but wasn't sure I wanted to break up the back of this page with the eyelet residue (you know the back part of an eyelet) but I supposed I could add a little metal decorative piece on the corners and that would solve that issue.
Started another page too, but its not finished.
I've got nice weather things on my brain!
Posted to http://paintpartyfriday.blogspot.com/ and Art Journal Every Day.
So I have a busy Easter weekend ahead of me. Off to visit my family who live a couple of hours south on Sunday. How about you? if you celebrate Easter do you have any plans?
Or if you celebrate Passover, maybe you have plans too?

Will be back next week.
Caio until then.

I hope spring arrives for you. I have invited her several times to come and stay, but she appears to be too busy to stay longer than a day. When I speak to her again, I will put in a good word for you though!

The texture in your second piece is as yummy as the ice cream cone you created. Thanks for sharing.
