A Little Here and A Little There

Wow, what a crazy week at work. I've had more meetings than is good for anyone, at least one a day, every day. Except today.  Finally a quiet normal work day!
It might be first thing in the morning but I am ready for a nap (or to go back to bed) already.
I am so glad it is Friday and just about the weekend.
Luckily it has cooled off and it has the feeling that fall is on its way. Think I am finally ready to give up summer...
Love the cooler days and nights (get to wear my sweaters  and sandals together-Yahoo!).
Just wish the days weren't so obviously shorter.

So I've been puttering around in the studio a few evenings this week...trying to get adjusted to creating after work instead of in the morning  like in the summer. Its  really puttering too, doing a little of this and a little of that. I have about 10 things all started, and I do a little and then run out of ideas what to do on them next.
Its also project transition time. All my fall and Halloween supplies have been pulled out.
Love playing with these things. I think making Halloween and Christmas projects ranks right up at the top of my fun list.
Hoping this weekend to shake myself back into a real work mode.
So here's another  of my 3 Halloween canvases I have been working on over the last several weeks. I think it is finished.
I wanted a few canvases to put on my mantel...I do a little Halloween decorating but this year think I want to really do up my fireplace mantel.
I used a lot of glitter on my black background which makes its hard to photograph.  I think they look a bit like spooky clouds on a full moon night.  (Or a big wildfire-ha-ha).  And I like the drips. I bought a bottle of Golden  High Flow acrylics and dripped on black paint while holding the canvas in a vertical position.
The witch is a Tim Holtz Sizzix die- you might be able to see how she pops up a bit. I cut her out 3 times- once in paper to act as my placement pattern. Then I glued some Martha Stewart Halloween paper down on some Grungepaper and die cut this lady. I glued this thicker die cut down on my template  and it was just enough to make her pop up above the moon. And I used a bottle of Stickles glitter glue to make the clouds around her.
Not finished with the other 2 canvases in this series, but they are coming along. A little here and a little there.

I am linking to Paint Party Friday. Check out all the awesome art  and thanks to Eva and Kristen for giving us all that opportunity.
Stop back soon.

Hi Erica! Glad to hear from you and that you are well:) You have created such a beautiful painting for Halloween. Great that you can work in your own studio after your work. I agree with you thoughts of the summer and fall/ autumn. Happy PPF and have a creative week! Sirkka

This is a really quirky piece and i like that it isn't the obviously Halloween color scheme.

Love your Halloween art! The shiny stuff is always hard to photograph!
All this year I had the goal of finishing my started pieces... so I hear you, doing a little here and there :oD
Where I live in California, it is still in the 100's, so I crave your cooler days...
Happy PPF!
