More Paintings

Art in progress today. More to do but these are what I have been working on this week.
The light is a little off here (a little too much light on the right side).
I have some ideas that I want to let simmer in my brain a bit  and then I am going to finish this piece off.
I am getting very close.
And I added these stenciled designs to this striped piece.  I want it to look like a blanket and I have plans to add something on top of southwestern style, but shhhhh, that part is still a secret. I do know where I want to go next with this piece.
One things about paint is you have to stop and let it dry so instead of this getting finished, it it just a blanket still.
I love the blanket colors though.  I used Dina Wakely paint.
And this last piece started when I was cleaning up my stencils from the blanket background.  Then I added some sprays and stamped imaged.
This piece might actually be finished. but like everything else I am showing you today, I might decide to add something to this.
So I spent this week fighting a head cold.  And cleaning up leaks from some ice dams that formed on my roof.  Luckily we got the ice dams cleaned up and the leaks have mostly stopped without too much damage. Once spring comes and I know we really are dry I have a ceiling to paint, but truth be told, I've been thinking it needed painting for awhile now, and the water spots are a good reason to do more than thinking about it. I also had a birthday this week, which was nice but rather quiet, but between the leaks and my head cold that was alright with me. I did take myself down to my favorite craft store and buy a few new toys for myself, which is always a fun way to celebrate a birthday.
What I am very excited about is that hopefully I will get a bookcase or two assembled this weekend. I am ready to get some projects finished because I am tired of more and more projects popping up around this place.
Do you have anything exciting planned this weekend?
Thanks for visiting, and please stop by Paint Party Friday and check out all the awesome art posted there.

These are all fantastic Erika! I love the beauty of the heart and roses. Your SW style "blanket" is gorgeous-even as it is! So many wonderful elements on the last piece. A happy belated birthday to you-we are both Pisces:) Hope your cold has gone away and you can play with your new art toys!

You have 3 great pieces, but my favorite this week is your faux blanket. That's such a unique idea and the colors are gorgeous. Blessings!

Just as me, having projects not finished around me ;) I love the colors of "the blanket", looking forward to see more of this.
Hope you'll soon be better. I've been sick for three weeks now.
And - a late happy birthday!
I can see you are a very creative person, when I also read the top post , above. :)

Love your three different pieces.
The heart is looking good and the stripes look fun and colourful, I wonder what else you will do with these two?

wow, love your blanket-like piece! The colours are great and the stencils awesome. I always treat myself to art materials when it's my birthday, so I totally understand your trip to the craft store :-)
