Baby Its Not Cold Outside-Yet!

Happy Tuesday everyone. Its damp and dark this morning and luckily not too cold since I am off for a 2 hour trip to take care of some business with my mom. But I haven't seen her for a bit so it will be nice to check in.
Today I have a skaters page to show you. This page started with me cleaning off a stencil and then the addition of  some watered down acrylic SILKS paint. I repeatedly stamped the skaters, colored them in, and then decided  they needed some ice.So I cut around their legs and then added some shiny silver paper and voila-they are skating on some ice!
I added some snowflakes, some stars, some wintery phrases and a TH card.
I am linking this page to Art Journal Journey. Thanks to Valerie for hosting and picking the great theme  of collage.
So thought I would also show you my new ink storage cabinet. Its nothing special, just me being frugal. One of my co-workers was tossing out this old cassette holder. I liked the fact it was made from wood and it didn't cost me any cash.
I couldn't take out all the vertical slats without the horizontal pieces having no support, but I removed several and can now store some reinkers and some paint bottles. It holds a lot of little bottles, and it doesn't take up  a lot of table space.
Maybe its not the most beautiful piece but it works and I love the fact I was able to recycle something that would have gone into the trash otherwise.
Guess I need to get moving. Hope you have  great day!

Thanks so much for making another gorgeous journal page with those lovely skaters, much appreciated! Your storage space is great, and even better that you managed to recycle something, fantastic. Have a great day, take care, hugs, Valerie

A super page dear Erika and your new shelf looks super - some of my friends use such storages for storing their distress ink pads.
Hope your day goes well and the visit to your mum is fine!

Nice storage and even nicer page. It's too weird warm and this is not making me happy for the holiday. I guess 40's next week so it will feel a bit more seasonal. xox

Your collection of paints looks fascinating in its dark wood box.
Love the skaters skating on ice, what a clever idea. The whole page is a happy winter scene and I like the golden stars coming through the pinks.

I hope you had a lovely day with your mother. The lovely journal page certainly brightened my day. It was fantastic.

I simply adore your little box. I'm always in love with recycling. I thought I had a lot of reinkers, but I'm in total AWE and jealous over all the Lumiere and DynaFlow jars. What fun I'd have painting fabric with some of those!
