Finished Painting

Happy Friday everyone! I don't know about you but I am ready for this weekend. It is going to be VERY cold here, they say the coldest weather of the winter, so I plan on spending my weekend inside, playing in the studio and reading next to the fire. Sounds like the perfect weekend to me.

So I finished one  of my painting that I  showed you a few weeks back. I call it rainy summer afternoon, because I want it to be summer and raining in the corner window  rather than winter and snowing. Or cold and snow covered.
My mind is starting to think spring.
My dog Maddie doesn't mind the snow though.  Rolling around in it is one of her favorite things! But then she likes water, mud, dry grass to roll around in also!

You can look back at an earlier view here Painting Again.
And since it is Friday, it is time for  Paint Party Friday. Thanks once again to Kristen and Eva for hosting. Stop by to check out all the assorted art.

OK, quirky fact for the day! So today is February 12- birthday of the 16th US president Abraham Lincoln- who freed the slaves, and also Charles Darwin, who came up with the theory of evolution. They were both born on this day in 1809. Interesting how 2 people came up with such world influencing ideas happen to be born on the same day in the same year. I wonder if there any other case(s) of 2 or more influential people being born on the same day in the same year?

So have a wonderful weekend. Hope you have a lot warmer weather than we have here!
And thanks for stopping by!

Gotta love the way you just left your flip flops on the floor and sun glasses on the table. Looks like you were worn out from all that shopping. What a fun summery post!

Those late nights at school can be a witch, can't they? Read your comment on my Sharpie post and think sharpies with rust might be very different. I say that because when I think of Sharpies, I think pastels, but it's obvious, my flowers weren't, were they? The rust and sharpie might be an interesting technique. Thanks for suggesting it.

About the caucus. I am not sure if anyone can attend the caucus, but it seems to me that the last time I went, some parents brought their children, although they were not allowed to enter the caucus rooms, but had to stay in the main room (where people gathered and some tried to get people to change their vote). You must be registered to be counted in the caucus, and NOW you must show a KANSAS (KS) state ID or driver's license when you enter to register.

Laws changed so drastically in the past three years, and even if you are a registered voter, you must show proof of KS citizenship before entering the caucus room. Not sure if that helped you understand us, because I THINK KS was the first in the nation to pass a law where you MUST show ID to register, and you must show it each time you vote or caucus.

I forgot to mention how cute Maddie looks in the snow. Typical dog, because cats would NEVER subject themselves to anything wet. I always tell Bleubeard when it snows so he doesn't try to rush outside. Don't have to worry about Squiggles, because he's never been outside, except the day I brought him home in a container and the days I took him to a vet in the same container.

Sorry your weather is so cod, enjoy sitting by the fire, reading and crafting. My dog used to love snow, too. Love the painting, it is a very cozy corner there, that's for sure. Have a nice weekend, hugs, Valerie

Love this warm and cosy painting, so colourful and cheerful. I like the way you have painted the walls, and the lovely vase with its fresh roses and the lime table.
Cold outside, painting and reading inside - sounds perfect to me too.
Happy PPF and PPWeekend!

Oh we do think alike Erika! I love your rainy day summer painting, and funny I have actually had a thought that won't go away about painting a page of a summer walk in the rain-something I love doing:)Looks like we'll have to keep thinking those thought while trying to stay warm this weekend. Maddie is so sweet-glad someone enjoys the snow:)

Love the painting. I'm with Faye. It reminds me of van Gogh, too. And I feel warm looking at it as I am very cold at the moment, and not enjoying this arctic blast either. Stay warm.

Warm and summery too. The colors are just perfect. We had about six days of absolute cold and I stayed inside completely.
