Snow Is Melting

Happy T Day everyone. Stop by Elizabeth's blog, Altered Book Lover and check out all the T Gang posts.  I snapped this photo of my chai yesterday morning with the fresh snow falling. We ended up with a 2 hour delay to school which meant I could go back to sleep an extra hour and get to drive in with some daylight.  :)
I like the owl eyes just peeking out from the snow. That wasn't planned- just what the snow depth was.
It was a terrible drive into work and the general feeling among all us staff was that they should have cancelled school. But by the trip home a lot of the snow had melted and the sun was shining. Today the snow should all or mostly melt, which is also a very good thing.

So I was very excited Sunday morning. I was doing  one of the projects on my little spring cleaning list.  I emptied out under my kitchen work bar (not drinking bar). It was pretty full under there and I created 2 big bags of trash, moved a bunch of things down into the basement over flow shelves and then I had an idea. Maybe I needed some of those cabinet shelf sliders so things wouldn't get lost in the back area of the bar.
This is the before with everything I cleaned out.
The hubby seemed to like my idea so we went to the local hardware superstore (Lowe's) and got some of these metal racks that slide out. I've picked up a few for my kitchen cabinets in the past and love them. They make finding things much easier and seem to hold more than the cabinets did before.
When we got home he installed them for me (pretty easy, just screwing them in), and then I finished my cleaning project.
Now when I want something I just slide out the metal rack and I can grab what's in the back.
Ha-ha- so exciting.
Have a wonderful T day everyone!
Thanks for visiting me.

The one good thing about getting snow at this time is that it does melt quickly! We were very lucky and didn't get any predicted snow at all. Cut owl mug. Great idea to add sliders and I bet you feel much better having gone through and reorganized a bit. Happy T day!

How fantastic! I know how you feel. Anything to make life easier and more organized. I love my cabinets to be organised. (although I am not a tidy person, my wardrobe and cabinets are very orderly).
Have agreat week. I hope it stops snowing out there. It's no fun. It's supposed to be spring!

Really enjoyed seeing your little owl mug peeking out of the snow. SO cute and the perfect photo, too.

You came up with a very clever idea. That's a great human factors idea and wonderful engineering project. Most impressive. Anytime I can save steps or space I'm all for it.

Thanks for sharing your lovely chai owl in the snow and your reorganized undercounter storage with us for T this Tuesday. I'm sure this resonated with several of us.

I got such a kick out of your snow picture lol. We got a flurry but not enough to really even see in the air.

Your organization for your cabinet looks like it'll work well. Congratulations on coming up with such a good system :)

Happy T Tuesday!

Boring with the snow and stupid.... I am with you ... I had such a drive last week....horrible-
this new organizing system is just brilliant ----
and again - great minds think alike... I did a little change in organizing all my pan lids recently... had the very, very simple idea finally to put them all in a big old plastic container ...oh what a miracle....I have to admit I am not a good organizer - neither in the kitchen nor in the craft studio - and I am a bit miserly - the most of the organizing systems are not really cheap - at least here in Europe - (excepting the ikea products -but it's a longer way to ikea for me) I am just a chaos - queen but I try to learn and try out to put my ideas into practise and always searching for the easiest way ... what is a good progress for me...
HAPPY T-DAY Erika!

LOL! Love the cup in the snow :) I also love those wire racks for organizing the cabinets. I've used a few myself and it makes finding things so much easier. Have a Happy T Day and a great week :)

The cup in the snow is perfect. I do like an organized kitchen and no matter how big is it there never seems like enough cupboard space. Looks like the sliders really work for you.

Oh, I LOVE those sliding shelves and baskets!! I have them in the kitchen and bathroom. They are awesome!! One of those items that once you have them you wonder how you ever got along without them--LOL!
Best to you! Love, Rita
