Why You Don't Want to Go Into the Woods

Here's a journal page I made and wanted to get posted before the most recent challenge at Moo Mania disappears. The latest challenge there is Newspaper.
You can link up right here:
I made the background on my journal page from newspaper, gesso and a little bit spray ink.
So this bear looks more cuddly teddy bear than viscous wild bear,, but not too bad for my first attempt at painting a bear face. The nose was a little tricky but the beauty with paint is you can just apply more until it works out.
I am also linking up to Art Journal Journey. This month's theme is Don't Go Into the Woods. And I guess this is why.
I also wanted to show you this beautiful envelope that arrived in my mailboox the other day. (Well just ignore where I digitally scribbled out the addresses-they aren't so beautiful).
In the envelope were a few little goodies for my birthday and also this beautiful tag!
Thanks Linda K for thinking of me.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
And thanks for stopping by my blog too.

Well aren't you the lucky birthday girl. Linda is a genuine sweetie, isn't she? I certainly like your woods art, too. I had to chuckle.

BTW, you asked if I rotate my rocking horses. For the most part, they live where they are, except the Christmas ones that get put away until the next year. However, sometimes they come out to play at night and find better spots to live or hide (grin).

Well Happy Belated Birthday to you Erika, I hope you had a lovely day. What a beautiful thing for Linda to do... I love to receive post like that. I'm sure the postie must love it too. Not the boring plain envelopes.
A bear would be tricky I'm sure. I've never tried to paint one before. His eyes would definitely stand out in the woods.
Great entry for your challenge.
Enjoy your weekend and Happy PPF to you too.

What fun, Erika. No, I won't go into any woods where this slightly sinister bear face is lurking. I see everyone else thinks he is not scary. I think he could be a bit unnerving in the woods with that disconcerting smile.
It's always so lovely to get a gift from a blogging friend.
Have a great week.
