Muttering to Myself

The holes are now gone!

The old couch was in very tough shape (including having one leg missing-we had a pile of books under it holding it up), but the new couch is here.
Maddie is posing to show you the new couch.
I love it. It is this nice worn looking leather. We went for the thicker grade having the dogs and the imperfections so whoever rubs it the wrong way it won't look all scratched up in that 1 spot. When we bought it the saleswoman had me scratch the leather sample with my fingernails over and over to see how it would wear. I couldn't get it to mark so I have high hopes it will wear well.
And what do you need to go along with a new couch?
Some good books so you can lounge and read with a mug of tea.
Here's my little pile. I'm working on the first one now.

I'm still craving non-fiction. I'll let you know what I think of them.
The only problem I can see with this comfy new couch is that I may not make it into the spare bedroom to use my art supplies for a bit. The temptation to lounge is just way to strong.
Ha-ha!
Thanks for stopping by. I always love it when you do.

Have fun on your wonderful, new sofa. Wish you many happy hours curled up there with good books. Glad the dog likes it, too! Hugs, Valerie

That is an incredible couch. I bet you are glad you chose the extra thick leather. It's certainly beautiful and goes very well with your rug. Looks like it's already dog approved.

I haven't read non-fiction in years, unless you include a few science books I have or art books I've been given. Other than that, I still prefer fiction, which means mostly mysteries.

Hope your day went well and you took time for yourself.

Nice sofa. Hope the puppies enjoy it. Got to check out that Natalie Goldberg, have not read that one. Xox

I look forward to your take on the books. Jan Morris' stamp of approval on that one tempts me, and the one on Viking women makes me want to go to the bookstore and find it. Looks like you have some winners here, and the perfect place to read them :)

The couch is perfect!Beautiful! We have a leather couch (for the dogs) as well.. now for more than 7 years and the best. O.k. I put them always a blanket on. I have an siena rost colored couch a bit lighter in color than your new one.. but more the modern style.. for myself I find ours NOT comfortable - this one looks so more cozy...I nearly never sit on it.... but the dogs like it nevertheless. As I bought it I told the woman in the furniture store that I would take this one because my dog should have space enough on it..
and she looked at me as if I were crazy...lol.

Happy Sunday.. I missed this post...but luckily found it now... I wanted to see your new couch I told you and
I love that your dog is also allowed to take the couch...
I often hear that we shouldn't allow them this because of
authoritarian reasons... but I am sure this is nonsense!
