USA Altered Book-A Few More Pages

For those of you in the US, Happy July 4th.
For everyone else, happy Monday. Another week is here and the weekend, as always, flew right by.
I haven't shown you my 50 states altered book for awhile, and I have a few new pages to show you today.
Thought it would be the perfect way to celebrate my country on this national holiday.
Maryland was all about crab cakes and visiting Annapolis many years ago with a friend. At the time we were staying with my uncle who lived in Silver Spring (Carol,if you read this, I think this might be in your neck of the woods).
But I've taken several trip to Washington DC and Virginia since that trip back in the 1980's. I think I'm due a trip back to  area, since I haven't been there since my daughter was a kid. During one trip we took there when my daughter was just 5, we had an exciting trip memory. Bill Clinton was president at the time and  I remember we were walking around the White House (where the president lives and works) when suddenly security was everywhere. As we stood there he went jogging by. Not close to us, but we could see him and tell it was him.
How many people visit DC and get to see the President?
Thought I'd add in this page with George Washington since he was the first president after we became a country. An today being the day we celebrate our country, I thought it was fitting.
And you why ask why the Mexican theme for South Carolina? On highway 95, just south of the North Carolina border, is this fun stop, called South of the Border.

Way back in college, my friend Jennie and I drove from Maine to Florida for our spring break, and we saw all this billboard ads for this place. So we took a "rest" stop and drove in to check it out. It was one of the road stories we had from our adventure that we still talk about today.
And then there's Florida..
And Louisiana.
Its always fun to explore and see new things. Lots of places left to finishes pages on and lots of places left to really visit too.
Hope you enjoyed today's little journey .

You certainly have seen a lot of the US

p.s. I am really excited about your upcoming trip to Iceland. Maybe I'm repeating myself...but travel always gets me excited! Our niece and her husband and two babies just spent a week in Iceland and loved it. They rented a van with a pop up tent on top. Now they are in France!

Your US journal is such a great idea, I love seeing your pages; they are so inspiring! You were so lucky to see the President when you visited DC, it must have been serendipity. I love your mexican theme for South Carolina and I can see why you were inspired, the flamingos in the parking lot are brilliant! Charleston is a beautiful place, I hope you get to visit there soon. Thanks for sharing your wonderful travels across America! J :-)
