Nothing But Blue Skies and a Watermelon

Last Tuesday was an absolutely gorgeous summer day. I bet you can see that from the photo. To me it was the perfect summer day.
Made even more perfect since the hubby took the day off from work so we could go do something fun before school started up for me. So we went boating on the lake.
There is so much less boat traffic during the week over the weekend. On the lake, the boat traffic creates so much chop, making it wavy as though it was stormy. But during the week, it is fairly smooth sailing.
Someone lost this big ball, and I think it looks so cool floating on the water. I know the background is slightly crooked, but I love the light on this ball.

So the hubby took me out to lunch at a place called the Town Docks. You have to sit outside at the Town Docks, and all the tables are on some sand. It is  a beach restaurant on the lake. They have pretty good sandwiches.
They also have all these wild drinks. The hubby and I decided to split a watermelon bowl.
Ha-ha- Love the whipped cream smiley face .
So did the hubby.
I even made a page in my summer journal about this crazy drink.

So I am linking up to T for Tuesday at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog. Its Tuesday-T for Tuesday! Stop by to see what the T gang is up to, and better yet, link up a drink/food related post.
Hope its a great day.

I saw that beach ball and thought you had superimposed the moon onto the water digitally. Then I read it was a ball and laughed. It's sort of amazing how 3-D items can look so 2-D on film.

LOVED the watermelon drink and enjoyed seeing your wonderful husband enjoying his day off. I see you two didn't go for the whipped cream first, which I think most people would.

East coast and Sam Adams beer. I DO like their stout. We don't really get it here, except at certain times of the year. Of course, I would have ONE bottle every three years or so, so they wouldn't want to stock it for me!

Thanks for sharing your watermelon drink, your time on the water, and your really fun lunch menu with us for T this week.

The ball on the water is a great shot and I learned a new word "Milfoil". Interesting and I am wondering HOW you stop the spread exactly.
Glad you got out to enjoy such a glorious blue sky day AND share it with us too Erika.

The photo of the glowing ball is great, so unusual, and your page with the watermelon bowl is very amusing, it will certainly remind you of the day.
I enjoyed my trip out on the boat on the choppy sea, thanks.

Fab photos Erika - loved the one with the ball - I couldn't work out its size but two things sprung to mind - the ones that you get inside and walk on water- as a claustrophobic not foe me! :) and it reminds me also of the giant bouncing balloon thing from that old TV series 'The Prisoner' with Patrick Mcgoohan.
That watermelon bowl looked very tasty and huge :) your journal also fab!
