Intergalactic

So I found this fun set of stickers for a couple of dollars and I thought they would make a great page for this month's "Ever journal page tells a story" theme over at Art Journal Journey.
This was just one of those fast and fun pages to make on an evening after work.
I had the 2 sheets of background paper, which is torn apart to make collaged background. Then I added the letter stickers for the title, and stenciled on the horoscope constellations.
There seems to be a lot on the TV lately about travel to Mars, and I wonder when the world will be more Star Trek like and people will really travel to and live out on other  planets besides this Earth. Or when people will make such a mess of the earth we can't stay here any more? I think that might actually happen one of these days, as sad and as scary as that would be.  I will admit though, I don't really have any desire to go myself, at least with how space travel is right now.
How about you?
Maybe you'd like to take an artful journey and join in with a page at  Art Journal Journey
Thanks for stopping by to visit and most definitely have a
Happy Saturday!

Wonderful page, yes the future has arrived, and when I see in the news about who's ruling the future, I might just want to go back somewhere with Dr Who! Thanks for another great page, you really rock the show. Have a great weekend, hugs, Valerie

For my part - I would love to travel to other planets - but it's also o.k. for me to stay just at home and just on my planet my whole life long ....
Your page is just fantastic - such an intergalctic fun! Great!
Happy Saturday Erika!

I like your journal page - it does tell a real story.

I don't have any desire to travel into space, but I remember that as a 9-year-old I was glued to our black-and-white TV to watch the first landing on the moon. It was fascinating.

Have you ever read the book "The Sparrow" by Mary Doria Russell? It's about the travel to a newly discovered planet in order to contact an unknown species. Very interesting read that I can recommend. It's even a high school read now.

This is such a fun page! The way you have positioned the background papers create the perfect dimension, it looks like the rocket has taken off right into your page :-). It's hard to believe that space travel will be available to all in the future, although I don't have any desire to travel into space myself. Have a lovely weekend! J :-)

Your page is fun Erika. I have really no desire to explore space, but it will happen I think well in the future.

I wish I didn't agree with you about making a mess of the world, but I do. sigh.

I have always wanted to travel to outer space ever since I could remember. I adore your cute futuristic AJJ entry today. It is wonderful.

Forgot to tell you, because I know you asked a couple of days ago, I finally finished the overnight french toast. It was wonderful, but I used whole eggs this time, rather than egg whites like before. I had purchased so many eggs and bread before the "possible" power outage, I have no idea why I got so many eggs. It's not like I could eat them raw in the event I lost power. Could be because they were on sale. But there I was with 4 doz eggs and 4 large rolls of French bread that I needed to get rid of, so it all went in a pan and sat overnight. I've been eating on it for what seems like forever. Good thing I also made a huge green bean casserole, too. Or I'd be suffering from insulin shock or sugar shock, whichever comes first.

I remember how sad I was when I realized I'd never see the day we had a Mars colony, much less be able live there. It still makes me sad. We lost so much when we quit venturing out there.

In the meantime I read books about Mars colonies ;) and do my space travel in virtual space.

Those stickers remind me of the Jetsons! They are talking space a lot. I remember watching the first launches, Glenn's orbit, the moon and the Challenger. Good and bad times... Very fun and topical, too.
