A New Week

Hi everyone. Its Monday already after a busy weekend. Between the nice weather and the list of things that we must get done before surgery, the hubby and I spent the weekend doing too much. I raked a lot of my yard and gardens, until the wind got to be a bit too much, and we went out and picked up at the store some flooring as our bathroom floor is crumbling so badly it is getting dangerous.  Maybe we'll install it before surgery, or at least that is the plan. Plus we still needed to carry all our Christmas decorations into the attic and do our federal taxes, but now those chores are also done.  :)  Feels good to check those off the list!
Plus a friend of mine from North Carolina was around at the beginning of weekend. So my weekend had some fun too.
I hope everyone had a nice Easter too if you celebrate. We had a nice dinner at home and kept it low key, even though we were invited to eat with some of my husband's family, we decided we would take advantage of the beautiful weather.
Oh yes, and we have a more definitive surgery date, May 9, which isn't very far away. Hopefully none of our pre-op checkups won't change that.
So its back to work today, but its the last week before my spring break. As long as nothing throws off the surgery, I only have 2 more weeks of work for this school year.
I think. 😸
So today I have a journal page for Art Journal Journey. This month Hazel is our lovely hostess with this fun theme of Magical Mystery Tour.  I think life is a mystery as we never seem to end up where we think we will. That''s the magic of it.:)

I used some Infusions to create my red background. Then I painted the roses, stamped and colored the feathers, added the transparency from an old sheet in my stash, and finally added the quote which I cut out of an old Flow magazine.
Yesterday it was summery hot, but we're cooling off this week. Back to spring. As long as it not back to winter.
Hope everyone has a wonderful start to their week.

You had an exhausting weekend, but glad it was filled with fun, too. The weather was spectacular and hopefully, we're done with Winter. Do you remember in 1977 it snowed on May 9?

I love the quote on your page and the echoing colors of the stems. The roses really stand out.

Yes life is a mystery!
It sounds like you have had a good Easter! Great that you now have even a date for the surgery - fingers crossed that it will be not changed anymore.
Good new work week. Here they have even Tuesday off from school. They have Easter Holidays.

Thank you for another fantastic page for AJJ dear Erika!

Is it bad of me to take a bit of pleasure in somebody else not having all their Christmas decorations up into the attic yet? ;) We have it all put away except the tree, but that tree is new and bigger than we realized. I agree that checking things-to-do off a list -especially before an event like surgery is scheduled- gives a feeling of satisfaction. I know y'all will be glad to have the surgery successfully in your rear-view mirror.

Sounds like you got a LOT accomplished this week and weekend. You sure got a lot off your plate now that your taxes are finished and your Christmas decorations stored.

Your latest AJJ entry is adorable. Most impressive with the quote from Flow. Also impressive is the way you brought it all together.

Here's hoping the surgery goes off without a hitch and this is the end of your school year in two weeks. Hope you had a WONDERFUL Easter, too.

I really love this page, Erika. And I love the red and rich colors. Very beautiful.

I'm so glad you were able to make headway on projects that need to get wrapped up before the surgery. Two more working weeks isn't very long! It sounds like a productive weekend and maybe even a little fun in its way. (At least you had a friend, so it wasn't ALL work!)

Happy week to you!
