July 2

Hi everyone. Its a busy blog day here at my blog.
First of all I want to share one of my drawing journal pages.

Its a silly page about one of the joys of my summer here in New Hampshire. We go boating in my husband's boat. My drawings are rather cartoonish, but I am just happy I can draw what I want and at least they look like what I wanted to draw. :)
And since this is a new month there's a new challenge at Art Journal Journey. This month our hosts are Bleubeard and Elizabeth, and the new challenge theme is summertime love.
Its a great theme and my page is just that theme for me. Boating is all about a beautiful summer day, being out on the water, sometimes cruising, sometimes anchoring at the beach for a swim, sometimes fishing, and sometimes even just anchoring and relaxing- and I had added the hearts to the page too. That's the love part, isn't it?
And I can't forget that it is July 2- which means it is time for Second on the Second.
I am going back to July of 2014, and I have some cards from my post for the July 4th Independence Day holiday.

If you are interested in the entire post you can read it here Patriotic Fever.
Stop by Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog for a fun relook at posts from the past.
I'm hoping everyone is having or has a wonderful Sunday. We're suppose to have lots of sun and little less humidity, and we're planning on going boating. Because, like in my journal page (and the art journal journey theme), its a great way to enjoy and love a beautiful summer day.
Thanks for stopping by.

Love your little drawings in your journal, they are lovely. Great cards from Independence Day, too. Have a fun day, whatever you get up to! It's cold and raining here, and 20° less than in the heat wave of 10 days ago! Hugs, Valerie

OK, I'm laughing at myself Erika. When I first read the top part of the journal page, instead of seeing "down in the boat," my brain read "down with the boat." It was just too funny to dismiss! It's a wonderful journal entry and perfect for summertime love, too. Love the boat drawing.

Your little Second on the 2nd cards are adorable. They look ATC size. Different from what you make now, so I enjoy seeing how your art has evolved and where it is headed. Thanks for sharing these patriotic beauties as your second look on the 2nd.

Boating sounds like a great Summer pastime and I love your painting of "the first trip this year" and the rest of your fun live journal page.
Have a great week, Erika.

Ha! Your post is from 2014 as well! I always forget that 4th July is a big thing in the States. And of course it makes for some colourful art in red, White and blue.
Have a good weekend,
Lisca

I absolutely adore your drawing journal -- now this is what an art journal should look like - well at least that is what I think. Winderfu Erika!

So have you made that mirror glazed cake -- I saw that episode and I just loved how it looked and have been wondering about it. I've got to try someday!
