Summer Love

Happy new week everyone. Its a gorgeous Monday here in New Hampshire. The wind is gently blowing and it has a cool feel to help soften the heat the sun. I just got back from my walk, 6300 steps later, and am trying to decide what to do this morning. The hubby is home for the holiday weekend and I am pretty certain we are going up to his mom's this afternoon. She lives on a little lake and so we can go swimming or relax on the dock with everyone who is there. We're also thinking of having a campfire in the fire pit tonight. I guess we'll see where the day takes us.
So I have another page for Elizabeth's fun challenge at Art Journal Journey.  Its a page from my calendar journal. These 2 little girls are adorable in their checked dresses. They are TH cut outs, and I couldn't resist  using them on my page. I also added the flag since tomorrow is July 4th or Independence Day here in the US and its quite the celebration in my husband's family particularly.
Going to make it a short post today. Think I will go bake a cake to bring to the celebration tomorrow. That way it will get eaten and I won't have it teasing me all week. I picked some strawberries last Friday and think maybe I could try a strawberry cake, which I've never made before.
Hope everyone's Monday is going well.

You page made me smile. I love that sentiment. Girls just want to have sun. YES! How about strawberry shortcake? Don't want to bake the shortcakes, take the easy route and buy an Angel Food cake and some whipped topping. Simple. Your day on the lake sounds perfect. Enjoy!

I adore the page you made in your calendar journal for AJJ. It's simply adorable, including the sentiment. I don't remember seeing those little girls in my package, but I keep finding new ones each time I look. You did a fabulous job, and adding the washi tape and hole reinforcers was a great touch, too.

Looks like you have your holiday planned out nicely. Please save me a piece of cake, too!

Sounds like you have a fun time planned. A lake sounds like just the thing :) We'll be having bison burgers here at the house. It's raining today, but I'm sure that'll be gone by tomorrow. Have a Happy 4th!

I love your journal cover, I love the background paper and those two little girls in their checked dresses are adorable! The sentiment you added made me smile too 😀. Wow, strawberry cake sounds yummy and will be perfect for July Fourth celebrations! Hope you had a great day and wishing you a very Happy 4th of July and T Day! J 😊
p.s. thanks for your lovely comments on my blog 😀. Although the 4th isn't a holiday here, we do celebrate a little by having American food. I made a big batch of waffles the other day so we had waffles for breakfast and my hubby has a BBQ/Smoker so it's Chicken Butt Chicken with different sides such as salad, homemade potato salad and homemade coldslaw for dinner - I'm so hungry now just thinking about it...lol! Have fun! J x

A quiet day at home for us on the 4th. After 2 weeks in Alaska and when we got home my daughter and 3 of her 4 kids were here for almost a week. Believe me, we are enjoying our quiet and peaceful life style.
Your page is so much fun and those little girls are so cute.
Happy 4th of July Erika!
