T is a Tuna Melt Today

Hi everyone. Another Tuesday is here again. Time to join the fun over at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog.  It's T Day and time to share your drink posts.
I like to share a food sometimes too. And today, I want to share my latest food craving, tuna melts.
Some yummy tuna, cheddar cheese and some marbled rye bread. For a drink I have a diet coke.
After our train journey which  I showed you yesterday (Riding the Rails), we needed some lunch. There weren't a lot of choices in this small Vermont town, but one place had a parking lot full of cars.
In fact, in this 1943 diner there weren't any available tables ((since there are only like 8 in the whole place), so we grabbed seats at the counter and looked at the menu.
This was just the front page. They had a great sandwich selection which was just what we needed for a late lunch.
And it was a very very good lunch too.
 I love these  retro diners.

And look at the cool old shake maker, which still works.
I didn't have them try it out for me, but I bet a frappe would have tasted good.

And of course there would be a great maple syrup sign,  since Vermont is famous for it.
I'm glad we found this place for lunch. If you ever happen to be in Chester, Vermont, I recommend it.
Have a great T day.

That diner looks great. I think I'd order the BLT and so nice to hear someone call the beverage made with ice cream, milk, and flavoring a frappe. Oh, and my SIL lives near Chester. Have you tried the Vermont Apple Pie Company? They have a fabulous breakfast. Happy T Day! Enjoy the weather.

Now I know why I live in the midwest in a rather small town (even if it IS the biggest in the state). The price of your tuna melt was a shocker to me. I'm thrilled you liked it. It really DOES look good, and I guess it isn't that much more expensive than the sandwiches we get here. I don't get why the "build your own" is $1.00 less than the tuna melt, though.

I loved the look of that malt/shake mixer. I think that retro diner must have been very popular. I also LOVED the sign about the coffee. Right up my alley.

Thanks for sharing your experience at Country Girl Diner, your water, and that cool coffee sign with us for T this Tuesday.

What a fun diner you found, looks like something out of an old film. Great food, too. Diet cola is always my fave. Have a great T day, hugs, Valerie

This looks a wonderful place to eat out. It is always good to see the different styles of restaurants and cafes you have over in the USA. The ones here in the NE of the UK are more or less what you would call 'ordinary' to look at.
I think your meal looked yummy, I would have chosen tuna as well.
Happy T day wishes.

I adore rye bread and yours looks yummy... You know i have never had a tuna melt but yours looks yummy and i just might be missing something there! :) Yesterday i had a patty melt and it was delicious.. Your retro diner looks fab!! I've always heard that when in a new place follow all the locals... A place with alot of cars around it is a good sign... :) Happy T day!

PS Gamsol is clear and doesn't have a smell to it .. But it melts and blends out the wax in the colored pencils so you get a smooth finsih..As you can see it also tend to brighten and enhance the colors... 100% pure mineral spirits.. Happy T day! Hugs! deb

Love those old diners!!! One of my fondest memories of our vacation back East. Your food looks fantastic and I love that coffee poster ♥ hanks for stopping by my blog ♥ I doubt that the flying squirrel will hang around long as the dogs are constantly barking at the birdhouse and annoying it. Probably a good thing :)
