Look Back Part 3- The Finale

Hi everyone. Can you believe it is the very last day of 2017? Tomorrow we start a new year with lots of new adventures. And today, I'll spend some time thinking about the year that was and what I might like to happen in the year that will be. Am I the only one who does that?
So one more day of art look back for me, and then it is time to look into the future. I like looking back though, because I see pieces that inspire me to create more art.
And once again, be aware this is a long post.
I was REALLY good and managed to do a page every day since April 1 when I started my drawing journal.  No, I didn't draw every day, but I did usually get a few quick sketches, often with my Faber-Castell art markers.
And  I figured out a lot about  borders too, along with lettering and some shading.

I am doing it again in 2018, and let's see what more I learn.

And I also worked on an ocean journal, which I did finish.

And in August I created a collage journal with lots of travel bits I brought back from NY State which I had visited for a couple of days.

And finally, here are some other random assorted art journal pages.
Can you tell I am not good at picking just a few?

And there were so many more pieces of art. But I do feel like I accomplished something. :)
Thanks for all of you who stop by my blog and a hug to those of you who leave comments! I wish you all the best in 2018 and I hope your dreams (or at least some of them) do come true in the new year.

Wonderful art, you have accomplished a lot this past year. I love the question, 'What happened to pristine?' I don't think pristine ever happened to me! Have a good new year, wish you and yours a happy and healthy one. Hugs, Valerie

You created wonderful pieces. My favorites were the low tide with the Adirondack chair and flip flops and the blue wellies. Both made me smile. Dream in colors that don't exist is an inspiring thought for the new year. Best wishes to you and your family in the coming year.

Thoroughly enjoyed the last few days and seeing some of the amazing pieces you created this year Erika.

I often make a (digi) scrap page with next years hopes/things to do but never seem to look at that at the end of the year to see how much was accomplished. I've made one for this year too which for once I think is a bit more realsitic to achieve - except the learning to cook maybe :)

I'm looking forward to reading that Hazel Soan book - I'd forgotten that was the one you had - she seems to explain things in a fairly simple way so I'm keeping my fingers crossed what I paint won't just look like carrots.

Have a great day and wishing you and your family a Happy & Healthy 2018 Gill xx

What a fabulous retrospective and wonderful way to end 2017. Your art always inspires and your calendar pages put mine to shame. I want to personally wish you a beautiful, safe, and joyous New Year and an art filled 2018.

Sorry dear friend. I'll be watching the ball drop from my sick bed, surrounded by two sick cats. Bleubeard keeps sneezing and Squiggles has stomach problems. Me? I'm shivering and hiding under blankets. Tomorrow, if I feel better, I MIGHT watch the Crown or whatever it's called. The one you bought the book to compliment the show.
