Hi everyone. I hope your week is going well. We're finally out of the crazy high heat and humidity we started the week with. I know some of you still have very high temperatures, so (try to) stay cool if that's you. Hopefully the AC's at my house can get turned off, and we can open the windows for a few days. 😏
Today I have a page for Matilde's People challenge at Art Journal Journey I don't know where June is going to, but her challenge runs through Monday, June 30. That means you still have a few days to join in if you're interested.
I went with a Japanese garden themed for this page in my nature journal. The page background is made with inks, some piece from an old Japanese garden book, some white paint and a Sharpie. I die cut the pocket and made a bookmark to put in it. You can see that bookmark in the next photo. I also added this Japanese person, a crow cut out some some clear tape and a 49 and Market printed image.
Here is the bookmark from the pocket which is made with ink, some yellow paper, some 49 and Market images and some more Japanese writing. I don't read nor write (nor speak) Japanese so all I know is that the writing is from a Japanese garden book, but who knows what topic it is covering.
Yes, this is a short post for today. I hope you have a super day!
The bookmark is especially lovely. I will have bookmark envy all day! All the best - David
ReplyDeleteI love that bookmark! It's 20-25C here, but hardly any sunshine...
ReplyDelete...I like the Asian feel.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the bookmark. It has a nice sense of peace.

Very pretty page. I like the bookmark in the pocket. I hope you enjoyed the cool down.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love your Japanese inspired page. It is charming. I also love that bookmark. It's definitely lovely. Thanks for sharing these with Matilde's theme at AJJ.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised you manage to make journal pages in that heat, it just saps my energy when it's hot. Guess the AC, units make so much difference. It's rare we get it like that but when we do ...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, love your page in your journal - the pocket idea is super and I had forgotten about additions like that. Love the butterflies, somehow I imagine a Japanese garden being full of them flitting about.
The bookmark is so pretty with the ivy climbing up and the little bit of text which links it yet again to this page.
Hugs, Neet xx
Beautiful theme, Erika! The background's texture and colors are perfect for the components you've picked for your page. And though it's been mentioned by almost everyone already--I love the bookmark too. 😊
ReplyDeleteDid I complain? If you think you got me wrong, really, sorry...
ReplyDeleteLove this page, clever with the bookmark.
Heatwave... 69F max today...
Yesterday was lazy, study-wise, today a new subject again, time runs. Wishing you a great Friday, hugs
I do like the bookmark.
