Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. And happy T day to everyone who stops by for our weekly drink meet up at BLeubeard's and Elizabeth's blog.
I joined Elizabeth's ATC swap for last week's T day celebration, and my partner was Jo. Her ATC arrived this past week in the mail so I'll share it today. It came in a little folder as you can see in my first photo.
And here's her stunning ATC. ❤Thank you Jo! I love it. I was surprised how quickly it arrived (comparing it to how some domestic mail seems to take forever), and I'm glad to hear mine arrived too.
What's been up with me? It's been a big water week since we met for last week's T. ππ°π I spent 2 mornings working at the boat ramp, 2 days on the ocean in my husband's boat, and one day I even went to the beach at the ocean (Wallis Sands in Rye, New Hampshire) with some friends.
Here's a few random water views that I took when we went on our 2 boating adventures . I hope you like boats and ships. π
Above is some of the local fishing fleet, and below, the Thomas Leighton which is a cruise ship. You can board this ship for a trip out to the Isles of Shoals (several small islands 6 miles off shore) to either stay there or for a day trip, take it for an evening dinner cruise or even take it on a whale watch.
Here's a lobster boat next to the Portsmouth Headlight and the Fort Constitution which was originally called Fort William and Mary. The original fort was built in 1632.
Friday afternoon we saw this ship just offshore.
Saturday we saw it docked along the river that takes us from the marina down to the ocean.
We guessed it was unloading gypsum since this dock is at a gypsum plant.
And this ship makes a much more peaceful view.
Since it's Monday I need a drink for T Day. My T day drink this week is my water from Tuesday when I was at the beach with my friends.
If you wonder why I'm wearing along sleeves shirt on a 90 degree day (32 degrees C), I wasn't cold, but I'm one of these people who BURNS π very easily, I was wearing a sun shirt to protect my arms. The towel was on my legs because I'd just finished eating the left-overs I brought for lunch, and it seemed better to eat them on a towel rather than eating them on my legs. It was also very hot that day, and even though the ocean is quite cold off the coast of New Hampshire, it felt fantastic.
If the forecast stays as it is, there will be more water in my life this week π since it's our week at my mother-in-law's home. I hope you have a wonderful T day and new week ahead.
Stunning ATC! -christine cmlk79.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLove the ATC you received! And your photos of the shore are beautiful. The large freighter looks very similar to the ones that travel all the way into Minnesota on the Great Lakes to pick up taconite. They really are massive ships!
ReplyDeleteAwesome that you have been busy and having fun! That cat is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI don´t like boats and ships - I LOVE them! Yupp, another left-overs-queen with a sensitive skin to the sun. I read ya....
ReplyDeleteAt least we have solutions, happy T-Day, enjoy the water, hugs
It was great to see that lovely ATC Jo sent you. I love them both (yours and mine).
ReplyDeleteI had NO idea there were whale watches on the east coast. I learned something new. And I loved seeing the lighthouse, too.
I also burn easily, so you were wise to cover yourself. I like how you keep your water bottle in a sleeve to keep it colder. Thanks for taking us to the beach and sharing your water with us, as well as your gifted ATC, for T this Tuesday, dear Erika.
I am probably the only ignoramus who does not know what an ATC is! I do know, however, that it is always a pleasure to receive old fashioned mail, especially bearing a stamp from another country. Those huge freighters are in total contrast to the yachts out on the lake. Covering your skin during hot weather with a scorching sun burning down is always a good measure. All the best - David
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a gorgeous ATC with that mystical cat.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing boats and ships and I like sailing on them. I don't normally sunburn as I have a mediterranean darkish skin. But I was on a boat recently and the salt sea splashes on my face made my nose burn. I now suffer the 'scars'.
...no David, you aren't the only ignoramus who does not know what an ATC is!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you loved the ATC, I had so much fun making them both π. ❤️. The King Charles postage stamp is one issued in the UK for international postage and is the minimum cost that you can buy for sending to the USA, it's quite expensive so it seems good value considering how quickly it got to you. Your boat trips sound so exciting, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself and have fun at the lake too. Thanks so much for the ATCs and moose card, I love them π. Happy celebrations and wishing you a very Happy T Day dear friend! Hugs, Jo x
ReplyDeleteAdd myself to those who do NOT know what an ATC is, Erika, perhaps I missed an explanation in an earlier post? But, it seems there are those fellow artists who knew exactly what it stood for so perhaps an explanation for us confounded folks π IT seems you have been getting your share of on the water time and the sailboat is a great sight.
ReplyDeleteI love the ATC that Jo sent to you. These little Artist Trading Cards, are works of art measuring 3.5 x 2.5 inches which are exchanged/swapped between artists rather than bought or sold and Jo has made a beautiful one for you. I love the strong Egyptian Cat who takes centre stage.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of boats and ships for us to see from your time by the water.
Hugs, Neet xx
the ATC is gorgeous. I love the pictures of the sailboat. I hope you didn't have any greenhead flies like we had at Crane Beach a couple of weeks ago. I was too late with using a towel so I look like I have chicken pox. Happy T Day and enjoy your beach days
