Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday. I'm here today because it's time for a new challenge at Try It on Tuesday. 😀
First let me thank everyone who joined into our Add Some Text challenge. It's always fun to see how people use text and if they have any special words or just words. And I don't want to forget to give a big shout out to Rosi who was our guest designer. Thanks for joining us.
Our new challenge is Summer Blooms, and this is the backside of the piece I shared for our last (Add Some Text) challenge.
I started by stamping the names of all those flowers on the left side of my piece using either a Creative Expressions or Woodware stamp. I don't have the paper backing it came with and I honestly can't remember which company made it. 😟
After I stamped that I inked the background with turquoise and then a bit of light brown ink. I used some washi tape to border the stamped image. I then stamped a large AALL & Create image that had a lot going on, but within that there was this giant flower. I stamped the image on some book paper, and I fussy cut the giant flower out. After attaching it to my page I outlined it in Sharpie to give it some oomph, used a bit of pink paint and added some colorful confetti pieces to the center. Then I finished with the sticker quote.
And don't forget to check out the other design teams flower pieces too. 👍
I hope you're inspired by flowers and will join us at TIOT during the next 2 weeks when this challenge runs. Remember we accept all types of art. And if art journaling is your thing, you can link up your flower pages over at Art Journal Journey also because this month's challenge is Botanicals hosted by Halle. I will be linking my page there also.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and I can't wait to see everyone's flower art.
Wow. I love how you interpreted Summer Blooms. This is awesome. I love the background and the colors you chose, as well as the focal flower. This is also a great page for Halle's theme at AJJ. Thanks for sharing.

A fantastic summer bloom with its print leaves, its a great inspirational page Erika.
ReplyDeleteOff for my weekly catch up here
Beautiful background, happy flower and center, and most of all great saying. True dat! As I get older, not worrying about what I cannot control or change has been liberating and happy-making! xoxo
ReplyDeleteA fabulous page Erika, love the bold flower with that lovely quote. The background looks great with all the names of flowers stamped.

Erika, your art journal page is absolutely beautiful! I love how you stamped the flower names on the left side. That’s such a clever touch! And the flower itself is absolutely gorgeous. But my favorite part is your message. That’s exactly what we should all strive for! Thanks so much for sharing this. Sending you hugs, Sharon
ReplyDeleteI have just realised I too have that huge flower stamp. I rally must get some of my stamps out from Aall & Create as there are some really lovely floral stamps there.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers names down the side of the page, was this one stamp with them all on? If not it must have taken ages.
I am doing my best to think happy so that I can be happy (got a sore ankle that will not heal).
Hugs, Net xx
I love this giant flower! Your colour choice suits it so much! Hugs, Chrisx
