Thursday Art

Hi everyone. Happy Thursday. We're having a weather change in my area today so hopefully those extremely hot temperatures will be gone. Right now they predict tomorrow to be a really lovely day. 😏

I have another page for Chris' Hot August (Days and Nights) challenge at Art Journal Journey. Today we're going boating.

I covered the colored page in the summer journal I am making with this paper. It reminds me of ocean waves.  Then I used some of the wooden sailboats from this package I picked up on markdown recently. I painted the sails red and also used some white paint to make a bit of water splash which you get as a boat bounces along in the waves.

The life ring is a clear sticker, and I added a wooden anchor from the same package the sailboats came in. I finished by adding a printed quote to the page.

I also have a tag today to share over at Tag Along (and ATCs too). This month Pinky is hosting and her theme is TRAVEL. I call this tag, Firenze/Florence because I used the face from that city's famous statue of David.

I made this tag by taking a basic white tag and using paint paint on much of the front. Then I sprayed it with some Dina Wakely's white and also pale pink spray paint. Once dry I used a sheet of Dina Wakely tissue paper and cut out the printed face. The words are all part of a big old stamp from Stampotique that has many words on it. I stamped the entire image on white paper and then cut  out the words that I thought applied to the statue. (Which really is an amazing sight.)

I finished by adding some pink glitter glue dots (Stickles) and made a partial edge outline with a black Sharpie.  I finished by adding a piece of pink ribbon through the hole.

That's all for me today. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Fair winds and following seas. Did you get the thunderstorms that rolled through yesterday? We didn't. Not even a drop of rain. Stay cool

  5. A very inspirational page with the sailing boats.

Your tag last month gave me Italian vibes and here we are again in my favourite Country. Effective use of pink graduating down to white to highlight David's face, yes an amazing sight as are so many of Michelangelo's works of art.

Many thanks for joining us again at Tag-Along (and ATC's) challenge.

  9. Yeah, we just don't get hot days here. 70°F is the most heat we get. I really like your summer art. This would make a great sign in a summer beach house.

  15. Oh I agree, that paper is great for the ocean. Nice page! And since y'all DO go out there in your boat, a memory page!
Well, it sounds good for you that heat didn't last long. I know you guys are not well equipped for it. Like we down here with your kind of winter..no snow tires at all to be found! lol xox
