Happy Thanksgiving

Hi everyone. Today I have a short post. I just want to wish everyone who celebrates today a
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

These turkeys that visit my yard are very lucky not to be on someone's table. 😉 Of course it is not turkey hunting season, and you can't just go and shoot them. Every time they show up I count them and there are still 13, so I guess they haven't been caught by a bobcat, coyote or anything else.

I bet those turkeys are glad they're not in these next couple of images I found online.

I'm thankful for many things in my life (but I won't bore you with here, especially if you have cooking to do) 😀, and one of them is for you my dear blog readers.

Whether you're a wild bird person, a Snoopy Fan or prefer Norman Rockwell, I hope you have a wonderful day.

  3. Your birds are a lot darker than ours. We have Merriam's, I think yours are Easterns. Happy Thanksgiving!

  12. I'm in luck today because I am wearing a Snoopy Thanksgiving Tshirt and we read Geo. Washington's first Thanksgiving proclamation for our grace at dinner. And we are a ham fam (no turkey) so those birds would be safe here, lol. I will miss a leftover turkey white meat sammich with mayo and lettuce, though. I do like turkey fixed that way. Hope you had a great meal and visit with family. XOX

  13. Happy Thanksgiving. We have turkey's, too, in a hayfield behind our house, but they tend to hid during hunting season.

  14. Good evening, thank you for sharing the wild turkeys-We always loved watching them at the woods house and in the spring with their little ones I would throw cracked corn out for them during hot summers the turkeys are here near the lake too. I see them in the summer when I drive out early mornings.
    and I love snoopy-Hugs Kathy

  15. Pleased you keeping note of their numbers and that they all survived following their last visit, something we don't see in the wild here.

  16. I didn't really know what Thanksgiving was, but I certainly identified with Norman Rockwell’s famous family dinner scene. It could have been any religious, national or personal celebration where everyone eats too much but leaves all the work to the mother or maid.

  17. I am really quite envious that you have these turkeys come to visit on a regular basis. Such a joy! I am happy to learn that the original thirteen are still together. Thirteen is a lucky number for Miriam and me. We met on a Friday the 13th, got married on a Friday the 13th and closed the deal for our house on Friday the 13th. Thirteen turkeys visiting would be the icing on the wedding cake we never had! All the best - David

  18. Happy Thanks giving! (I always loved Norman Rockwell. For Europeans, his images are America. Perhaps an idealized image, but very nice, I think.

  21. Those turkeys are definitely counting their blessings today! 😂 It's wonderful that you have a flock of 13 visiting your yard, they must be quite a sight! I'm glad they've successfully evaded the coyotes and bobcats. Wishing you a day filled with delicious food, good company, and all the things you are thankful for! It's kind of you to think of your readers today.
