T Stands for This and That Spring Edition

Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. And since it's Monday night, it's time  for T once again over at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog.

So what's up with me?  Last week it was on the cooler side (and Sunday was even downright cold) ,and we even had a bit of rain. Thursday we needed to go into Boston for my husband's annual kidney transplant check up. It's been 9 years, and all is still good. ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿ˜€❤ The photo below is Mass General Hospital where the transplant took place and where my husband still gets care. This is  not even all of Mass General Hospital, and that includes the 2 parking garages  which are part of the hospital property. Even though it's an amazing hospital, it's quite the zoo, at least driving in and out of. I suppose many big city big hospitals are the same.

I've also been busy with some more yard work.  And look, we're starting to get some leaves. I know for some of you leaves are not exciting, but when it's the end  of what was a long bare branched winter, it is exciting.

The weeping cherry is my yard (we call it Al after my Dad since it was a gift from my co-workers when my Dad passed in 2004) is blooming and attracting all kinds of bees, including some wild bees I could not get a photo of because they moved too quickly.

I don't think Al will be  blooming for much longer, sadly. It's too bad these spring blooms don't last for more weeks.

The back deck railing is done, and it looks great. I think I need an updated photo though because the centers of the spindles do not have the part going through them. That has since been pushed up into place under the top railing.

My perennial garden is looking great, especially with all the daffodils still blooming.

And yes, this outbuilding needs a new roof and a new exposed chimney as it's original from when we  bought the house.  It's my husband's tool shop.

Mama Bluebird is getting used to me, but not quite as used to me as all the chickadees that come to the bird feeders. She and Dad bluebird have been busy feeding some chicks in the bluebird house.

But there's no sign of the babies yet.

And probably the biggest spring news is what opened this weekend.

Until late June they will only be open on weekends.  The hubby and I went for dinner Sunday evening and split a seafood platter. It was as good as it ever is. And  we still couldn't finish it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It was also good because the price of this meal did not go up ( at least not yet) from last year nor  from the year before. And the best thing about Pop's is that they don't mind if you bring your own drinks, which we did. You can see my Diet Coke which is my  ticket for T this week.

That's about all the new things with me. Wishing everyone a Happy T day and week ahead.

  3. Living with a man with nearly no pancreas I sure can read you. Yippeeeeee for all being good! 2008 it hit us. We need to be thankful, huh.
Reckon we´ve seen hospitals way too often. And the smell. But ... we´re thankful, right?
To your Dad (mine passed 2002).
Your deck looks great! And the bird house! (s - plural)
Pop´s is open, yay, oh, time so runs, enjoy!
Have a great new week, hugs!

  4. Congratulations on another year all-clear for the hubby. Yes, it must be daunting in a big city even with modern satnavs. I'm happy to drive in Granada (small city) but I would think twice about a big city like Boston.
Yes, I like to see leaves and blossom too. Although I live in a warm country, winters are cold and the last one has been severe (at least for our standards).
The deck railing is looking 'schplendid'. Well done hubby.
Lovely to see Mr and Mrs Bluebird. oping to see the brood soon too.
Ah, Pop's opened again! Did you not have a lobster roll?
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  6. NINE years? No way. I can't believe it's been that long. Time really does fly as you age. So glad he's doing so well, too.

Al has lovely flowers. Great photos of your daffs and the rest of the new deck. Hope you see some baby birds soon.

How great that Pop's hasn't raised his prices. I wonder if they will increase later in the summer. Everything is so much more expense now and gasoline is through the roof. Thank for sharing your yummy looking meal and diet Coke with us for T this Tuesday, dear Erika.

  8. So glad to hear your husband’s check‑up went well--that’s wonderful news!
Your yard looks like it’s waking up beautifully, and Al’s blossoms are such a sweet tribute.

  9. It’s good news that native bees are still present on your property since they are under siege just about everywhere. It would be good to keep a record of the species you find. All the best - David

  10. ...as a young boy, I still remember going to Boston. My father was driving and asked a policeman for directions, he said, "you can't get there from here!" I'd love to go to Pop's Calm Shell!!!

  12. Chickadees are remarkably fearless around people, aren't they! Unlike almost every other bird.

  13. I'm always excited when Pops open. I don't know why -- never having been there. But it makes me smile big! And I'm so thrilled the Boston appointment went well. Everything on the property is looking great, trees, birds, railing (very nice!). Tis the season!

  14. Good news on your husband’s checkup and driving in any major city is never fun. We were in Providence, RI, this weekend for a graduation. Nice to read that Pops is open for the season & maybe this year we can meet up there๐Ÿ˜
