A collage in my journal that started with random tape strips. While cleaning the studio I found several just about empty tape rolls, so I stuck the strips down , used some red and green watered down acrylic paint, and went from there.
The leaves are hand cut from paper, the snowflake trim is a punch from Martha Stewart, and the words are actually from a place mat. I found the place mat about 3 years ago on a mark down after Christmas, and when I saw it, the first thing I thought was craft supply. It is a foamy piece made up all off kind of holiday words, and I can cut out the words using scissors.
I am linking this piece to Paint Party Friday. Thanks to Kristen and Eva for hosting.
I am also linking this piece to Art Journal Journey. Thanks to Valerie for hosting this month's theme of collage.
So another week is already winding down. Time is speeding right by, isn't it? Do you have any fun weekend plans? I need to finish decorating my house for the holidays so I can put away a few boxes that have been sitting in the middle of the floor all week. Plus we are going to a BIG hockey game Saturday night-as we are playing our rival. It is always a good game! Tonight we also play our rival but as it is 3 1/2 hours away we won't be there for that game, but Saturday night they play local-at our rival's arena, so it is always a lot of fun. Except for 2 years ago when the puck came up and hit me right in the glasses and eye. Lucky my glasses saved my eye from any damage-other than a pretty nasty black eye.
Thanks for stopping by and
Hope you have a great weekend!

Lovely collage page, thanks for joining us again at Art Journal Journey. Have a fun weekend, and be careful at the hockey match! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteNow I know why basketball is my game of choice (grin). It's far less dangerous, too.
ReplyDeleteI simply ADORE that collage. It is gorgeous. And you are a genius to pick out that place mat, knowing what you would use it for. I'm intrigued by that tape. Never seen any like it before.
I'm NOT a fan of Martha, but I sure like her punches. They are the only ones that I've never had trouble with. Although I don't own many punches, the three I have from Martha have never given me any trouble. I've never seen the snowflake before. It's a beauty.
Wow ... a lovely collage.. great that you found that place mat ...
