Out and About in New Mexico

Yvonne's theme over at Art Journal Journey is Out and About which is perfect for the journal I am making as a memory of my recent trip to New Mexico.  I might NOT have been on a horse like this cowboy, but I did ride over the bridge in the photo on the right. This is the Rio Grande River Gorge, and this bridge that spans the gorge. It is 565 feet high above the river and the 7th highest bridge in the US.  Its quite the ride over it, especially if its windy.
The photo in my journal is from a travel brochure I picked up. The photos below are ones I took.

The bridge doesn't look too high here.
And look, a prairie dog.

We also had a bobcat run across the road in front of our car right after wee went over the bridge. It was cool.

Its always fun to be out and about, especially on a beautiful day.

  2. Your journal pages are fantastic. I love "Casa Vicky and Bob." I got rather queasy seeing that bridge up high. It looked high to me, especially in the second photo.

Beautiful photos, and very different from your area, and mine, too. Ironically, the telephone and light poles are everywhere, even in the desert.

  4. I just love your journal pages! The west makes great fodder for them.

We go out to the house in Tucson every school vacation. We live in Boston and are raising our grandson. So we can only go on school vacations. next trip is in April, then not again until August when camp is over. That wait is too long. Same with Christmas..... he graduates from high school in June of 2018.....I will be out there the next day! LOL

  5. Your trip journal is turning out well. Love the cowboy pictures. Beautiful scenery in your photographs. the mountains are so different looking than what I've seen in New England. that's some bridge, Wonder if riders ever experience the thrill of sitting on the bridge forever as riders heading to the Cape know the joys of waiting to cross the Bourne?

We stopped there for a photo shoot as well and enjoyed it.
Seeing a bobcat would have been an extra thrill that's for sure.
