T Stands for Dining Adventures

Happy T Day ladies. Tuesday has arrived so it is time to share a drink related post over at    Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog .
So for T Day today I have a delicious meal to share with you.
Last Saturday was a beautiful day so the hubby and I took a road trip to the beach.. You can read about it here; Here We Go ON a Weekend Adventure.
When we finally left the beach, it was 2:30 in the afternoon and we hadn't had any lunch. We were starving. So instead of getting on the highway and heading home we drove through the coastal business district until we passed a place that looked good to us.
One of the places we came upon was an Italian restaurant. Now a friend of mine had just told me a few days earlier that it was her favorite Italian restaurant. They had a lunch menu (even though it was past lunch time) and we were feeling adventurous, so we decided to try it.
It's Ronaldo's in North Hampton, New Hampshire.
The place was open but other than one other couple, the place was empty. Of course it was 3:15 in the afternoon, past lunch time and not quite dinner time. It had a cute decor though.

We decided we might as well have an early dinner since even if we had lunch, we wouldn't want dinner until midnight anyhow.
So I ordered the Italian meatloaf. It came with bread, a side salad and of course, pasta.
I also had water and a Diet Coke.
Oh my goodness. It was huge.
But it was delicious. I think that marinara sauce was one of the best I had ever had. And the meatloaf wasn't too shabby either.
Here's the doggy bag with my left overs. It  feels like it weighs about 5 pounds. My hubby and I had some of them for dinner one night and there's still enough for me to fill 3 containers for my lunch at work. :)
And I have a new page for Art Journal Journey. For one more day the theme is New Year: New Adventures.  Then it will be February and time for a new theme.
My page today not only celebrates adventure but since I was thinking about Valentine's Day and all the hearts I have seen on various blogs lately, it celebrates the adventures of love and relationships.

This page looks better in real life than in my photo. I made my heart from left over Christmas ribbon, as well as a bit of stitching, some paper tape and some stickers. My background is a collage of various papers.
Thanks for visiting my blog and wishing you all a Happy T Day.

  1. Well, you sure got a good bargain on food in that restaurant if you had so much to take home with you, that's great, and it looks so yummy, too. Lovely journal page, great stitching on the heart, I love details like that. You have made some wonderful pages, just fantastic. Happy T Day, and have a good day at school, hugs, Valerie

  3. You found a wonderful place to eat, and it looks like you also had enough leftovers that you may still be eating them! That is the real thrill, isn't it? I'm so hungry just seeing the sauce and the pasta, right now. You may keep the meatloaf.

I am in awe of your art journal page. I always LOVE anything recycled, so this heart really spoke to me. I also like the background. I want to reach out and feel the texture and the sewing, too. It's a beautiful entry and you are a fabulous host this month, dear.

Thanks for joining us at Art Journal Journey AND T Stands For Tuesday this week. What a fun, fun post.

  4. Ronaldo's looks like a nice restaurant, and the meatloaf you had looks delicious. I love getting an abbondanza portion and being able to have awesome lunch or dinner the next day.

Great page and sentiment. I love how the heart looks broken and put together again haled by the orange tape. Just as in life's adventures hears are broken, but somehow are mended again.

  5. I totally agree with the quote that you added to your fabulous journal page.
Love is an adventure that can last throughout our lives in so many ways, if only we look out for it.
The restaurant you visited sure gave huge portions. I think it looks like you had the whole loaf on your plate. A super bonus to be able to take it home, to enjoy later.
    Happy T day wishes Erika

  10. And I love the quote -
heard an e-book recently and the essence of the book was that the soul is just on earth to learn to LOVE ....
that idea is so uplifting and I hope to learn to love all things around me!

    At least try it ...hihihi!

  11. Very nice looking restaurant, Erika. I agree the decor is cute. I can't believe the size of the pasta plate you got! Three or four more meals makes that meal the buy of the decade IMO!

I don't know where you find time to make such elaborate pages with all the piecing and stitching. It's lovely and I love the sentiment.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

P.S. Thank you for the comment on my blog. I was using watercolor markers like you do and I prefer the watercolor look for my journal. So it's my paper that's the problem (of color bleeding through). I can try a different paper after some experimenting because I cut my own journal pages. So time will tell ...

  18. This looks great, Erika, so colourful and full of happy life. Nice sewing around the heart and I like the orange stickers too.
Gosh, that was a huge meal, I wonder why a reataurant would give such a large meal. Glad you could take the rest home.
Your AJJ theme was fun, an interesting and original theme.

  19. First off, that meal looks so yummy! I haven't had pasta in ages and that certainly makes me want to reach into the screen and take a bite.
Your journal page is so lovely. Your use of stitching and ribbon is so unusual and the perfect focal point for your page. Love it!
    Happy Tea Day,

  20. Well that certainly was one memorable outing, the restaurant looks so lovely and homely, and how wonderful that your generous portion could last you for several more days! (That's what I love about US restaurants, - here in the UK the portions are usually much smaller and asking for a doggy bag is not a common thing at all).

Your love page is wonderful, love how you created the heart, and after nearly 45 years of marriage I can vouch for the truth of the sentiment :o)
