Dreaming

Hi everyone.
I thought today I would share something for my Favorite Things challenge over at Art Journal Journey that has  some hope and fun to it.

I started with a Citra-solv  transfer on some watercolor paper. I thought the final image looked rather exotic, and it got me dreaming about when I can travel again. (Someday! Hopefully sooner rather than later.) I decided to give this page a travel theme because traveling is one of the top things on my list of favorite things to do.

The flight attendant is an  AALL&Create stamps by Janet Klein. I stamped her 4 times, and I gave 2 of those flight attendants the airline cap and 2 of them the carry on bag.  Then I added some Japanese book paper, a few little printed paper circles, some paper tape, and some other stamped images and words. Yes I purposely added the partially ripped piece of tape at the top. We're all a little roughed up from Covid right now, as are any travel ideas or dreams.

I haven't made any plans to go anyplace at this point. I know a few people who have, and in a way I don't blame them because tickets are pretty cheap right now. Cheap tickets aren’t a big enough incentive with the risk of catching covid for me however . Who knows when covid will start to decline? I don't want to tie up lots money with airlines wishing. Maybe this summer or fall  things will be good enough to start going places. At least places in the car hopefully.    Until then, I guess like everyone staying low key because of covid or who can’t go away for whatever reason, it will be either in books, art or on TV that I get out and about. And right now, I just want to get through this winter.

That's all for me. Hope you enjoyed my page.

Cute page. I was just wondering if I'll be able to get back to Enders Island for a class this year. We might not be able to physically travel yet, but we can take daydream trips. I hope the snow squalls miss us today. Take care.

Travel is in the thoughts of many with today’s changing of the guard. I’m not a traveler, home is my favorite place, but I know many who are eager to feel free to travel once again. It will happen, but first patience is necessary. In the meantime, travel art helps. Nice page!

Those little flight attendants remind me of the now defunct Pan Am flight attendants. If I recall from films I've seen, they wore that similar color blue. This was fun and your Citra-solv page turned out GREAT. I can't get it to work that well. You have also given us more ideas to come up with for your theme at Art Journal Journey, too. Thanks for the inspiration, dear.

I LOVE your page, Erika. I have seen on YouTube the use of Citra-solv for transfering an image, but unfortunately this product does not exist in Greece. Do you know that Aall & Create is among my favorite brands? Yes! And the funny girls you used fit perfectly your great page. Kisses!!!

I am with you Erica, and enjoying the same things as you. Loved your comments on Elizabeth’s page for t day. Great idea for. Your baking list. I think I will do that also. I borrowed that book from the library last year. Can’t remember what I made, but I do know it was not bagels (which I love, a little too much!) yours look awesome. Love your blue page too, beautiful. I’m from Melrose, not a bad ride to the beach...my sanctuary, until I can get back to Ireland. Stay well.

A super page Erika! We haven't made any travel plans yet, we still don't know how this year will go, even with the vaccines.
Keep safe,

I decided England 2021 will turn into England 2022. Like you, I have no desire to get on a plane (or any enclosed mode of travel, other than my own car or Rick's.) I'm getting itchy too, but if I cn get through winter, there will be time for short road trips and the lake this summer. I like the piece. The attendants are cute!

Fab background and the flight attendants are incredibly fun. I haven't had any desire to go anywhere but I am starting to dream of where to go when things get a bit better. Hugz

I am with you on the thoughts of travel, would rather safeguard my money and not risk travelling - certainly not on a plane, with the present climate of Covid.
Great idea to do the travel theme on the transfer. I love those Janet klein figures and that is a great idea of yours to do them alternate across the base of your journal. It looks great!
