Home Again

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful past week.

I had an hour layover in Chicago yesterday on the flight home and a chance to write some posts, like this one.

We got home last evening, exhausted from a long day of traveling. The good news is the 3 hour time difference doesn't feel so horrible coming east. Although we landed at 5:30 in the afternoon, in a way it was really only 2:30 California time. Now my body has to readjust back to NH time (and also to the cooler weather).

It was good to get away, and we had a nice trip. One reason we decided to go to California is they are more strict with covid regulations. They certainly have a much lower positivity rate than my small population home state of New Hampshire.  Once I process my photos I will have lots to share with you.  We visited 2 national parks, drove up the coast between LA and San Francisco and saw lots of interesting things we can’t see in New Hampshire. But right now, it is just  good to be home again.

It was easy to write and schedule some posts before we went away, but of course I can't comment until other people's posts get put up. I hope to do some catching up on posts today, as well as doing laundry and getting to the grocery store. Once again I hope you understand if I haven’t been by as regularly as usual   I think I did pretty good keeping up though

My page today  was made back before we went away. It is definitely more  California weather than here in New Hampshire, unless you want to wait until May. There is nothing more uplifting than a beautiful spring day after the long chilly winter. Sunshine. warm temperatures, blue sky...probably the warm temperatures are the most exciting thing about a spring like day.

My background started with a gelli print with lots of white space as well as having a couple of green springtime leaves on it. I stamped the flowers and used markers to color them in.  Then I added a few small scraps of brownish tissue paper. I used an old cardboard tape ring and some pink paint to make the circles, and I used a small rubber stamp with the dots on it and some black ink  to add those speckles around the page.

I added some pink tape as well as a bit of stitching to make a place for these ladies to stand. They look ready for spring and like they have plans to do something fun, don't they? Finally I stamped the quote on white paper and after cutting it out, attached it on my page. Just as the quote says, these 3 friends have spring fever.

I am linking up to Chris' All Kind of Weather challenge at Art Journal Journey, as well as to day 20 at Leah's Art Every Day Month challenge.

Have a  wonderful start to your weekend! And thanks for visiting.

  1. Welcome home! And just in time for the colder temps and some snow showers in the hilly areas. I'd rather be with the ladies going shopping, maybe to a museum, and out to lunch.

  5. Thank you for your catch up comments! I’d like to do more of those dolls but my hands would rebel now, they were made some years ago in ore-arthritic days. Sounds like you had a great trip! I always love the old fashioned flavor of your pages, you know that! I’m going away tomorrow to your back yard in Massachusetts where our daughter lives in Ashland. Happy Thanksgiving!

  11. Welcome home, dear. Seems like you already have a lot on your plate. Love this spring fever inspired journal page. Those ladies look like they are enjoying spring. I love how you grounded them in washi tape and sewing. This is perfect for Chris's theme at Art Journal Journey, too.
