Hi everyone. It’s almost the end of July, and today I am sharing my final journal page for Halle’s Botanical challenge at Art Journal Journey. My page has a bit of a fall feel, but with the heat many of us have been dealing with, in many ways the chill of fall sounds fantastic. Of course, I'm really not trying to rush the year nor the arrival of autumn, I just wish it wouldn't be quite so hot. 😏
My page today is from my Nature Journal.
I started by using yellow and orange ink on my background, and then I added 2 pieces of tissue paper with some birds and writing on it. After that I stamped the quote (not sure what company made this quote stamp but it was wood mounted.) Then I sprayed the page with some sepia colored spray ink to give the background a little more depth. Finally, to finish, I added a couple of laser cut images from 49 and Market as well as a crow cut out of some clear tape.
Thank you Halle for hosting and also for picking such a great challenge theme too. I loved it. I hope you had fun too and want to join us again another year. I also want to thank everyone who joined in. Of course it's only July 30, so there's still a little bit of time to link up a botanical journal page if you'd like. 😉
Let me end this post with some other botanicals. Since I am obsessed with flowers, I hope you also enjoy these views. And they are definitely signs of summer.
And if you've made it this far, I'll finish this post with a visitor who stopped by my house last evening.
Can you notice Mama hiding in the background?
Have a great rest of the month.
I would think that the visit from the fawn made the visit very special. All the best - David
ReplyDeleteThis month went by so fast. As your page looks like very Fall colors to me. The closeups of your flowers are so beautiful and remind me of Georgia O'Keeffe. Aww, the little fawn is adorable under Mama's watchful eye. One more day to stay cool.
ReplyDelete...the more flowers the merrier. Enjoy would is left of a Jubilant July.
ReplyDeleteOh you had the cutest visitor, Erika! I love deers!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of your flowers, my friend, and a lovely page, Erika, for Halle's challenge at Art Journal Journey.

A very beautiful journal page with the birds. It's gotten cold here, and it's raining constantly!
ReplyDeleteYour garden flowers are beautiful, and the sweet visit, the fawn, is wonderful!
Hugs, Elke
There is something about raindrops on flowers that just hits the spot. These are all gorgeous, Erika. And I love the deer.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are so very beautiful and summery!
ReplyDeleteNothing better than Autumn style botanicals! I love the colors and the birds on your page! Your flower garden looks stunning and how nice to see the baby fawn!! AWWW!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful art. The garden looks amazing. Uhhh the deer have to go though. LOL
ReplyDeleteA lovely page, such beautiful flowers and a very special (and sweet) visitor to your garden.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I love deers but where did your visitor wander in from? Did he or she find a safe way home?
ReplyDeleteAww, Erika, your photos are absolutely wonderful! The flowers are so beautiful with dewdrops, and the fawn is adorable. It’s so sweet that the mama fawn was nearby and that you captured her in a photo. Also, your art journal page is gorgeous!! The birds, leaves, and butterflies are lovely, and the yellow and orange background is beautiful. And your sentiment is perfect! I also want to let you know that I really appreciate your visits to my blog. Thank you so much, Erika! Sending you hugs, Sharon
ReplyDeleteYour page sure says "Autumn" > and it´s cold enough to reflect this here, alas!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful and yes to that bench! And the very cute visitor!
I´m again a day late... so... happy Thursday? Hugs!
I love your flower photos… you remind me to go out in my own yard and take some pics of the flowers!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous photos and artwork. I love the autumnal feel of your page--I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of fall. But the summer photos are beautiful, too. I'm a big hydrangea fan--they're all over the place here. Interestingly, the area where we are now has a lot of really deep jeweltone colors that take my breath away. Hope the last day of July is a good one and the first day of August even better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special final entry for Halle's theme at AJJ. You used the tissue well, too. LOVE your flowers. Your yard is so colorful and perfect for your bees. Lovely fawn and mother doe, too.
ReplyDeleteLove how the mother deer keeps a watchful eye on her baby - how wonderful to have this young visitor. Lovely photos of the many flowers surrounding your home.
ReplyDeleteYour page is lovely. To me it has an old fashioned look about it but I cannot say why. I like the background, the birds and the botanicals. The quote is beautiful, such a lovely script and lovely words.
Hugs, Neet xx
Your yard flowers looked lovely with the water droplets on the petals and leaves either from a rain shower or a hose😉 What a lovely little surprise visitor and good to see the protective mom closeby.
