Hi everyone. I hope you're having a good week. It's Friday, so it's time to join Nicole for Friday Face Off and Gillena for Friday Lunch Break.
I don't have any exciting faces to share this week as the art I've been working on is for September challenges. Plus it's been our week to have my mother-in-law's house, the last for this year. After Labor Day (the weekend of September 5-7 for those of you who aren't familiar with the holiday) there are no assigned use times and anyone in the family can go up there whenever they want.
I can show you the 2 owl faces in my rose garden. I was worried I was going to lose these roses early in the season when all their leaves turned brown and fell off. It was weird having empty stems/canes with blossoms on them. But with some fertilizer and lots of watering, you can see they have mostly come back. 👍 Hurrah!!!! I had wondered (back when they turned brown and lost their leaves) if they were just too dry because at that point we were still in the drought that started summer of 2025. I guess my guess was exactly right.

The lake view is just so tranquil and beautiful. Love the cute owl faces in your rose garden. Who is older, Mr. Pete or Maddie?
ReplyDeleteThe owl face stones worked well for the Friday Face-Off Erika.

ReplyDelete...Erika, those owls are fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you have some very exciting faces. The owls are fabulous!!!! As are the dog faces and the faces of the petunias are beautiful. So happy you joined FFO and have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs are so cute. Love the rock owls. So cute.
ReplyDeleteI like those stone owls in your garden, they look very cool. I wouldn't mind having a pair of them in my own garden. And concerning roses - I have decided to take my rose out. It did bloom well enough, but it wasn't doing well over the summer and I just got tired of it. It doesn't really belong in my low water garden anyway. It's flowering right now and after all of the blooms are gone, it will have to go.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend, hugs - Carola
Enjoyed my scenic visit, thank you.

Those stone owls are adorable, but the dogs faces are priceless. Happy FFO and AFFF.
ReplyDelete"The last for this year" sounds sad. Cute owls... and doggy-faces, hugs and to a great, well... Saturday by now
ReplyDeleteI love those owls! Glad your roses came back and how fun to get the surprise petunias! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNow who wouldn’t want to have a couple of resident owls, always reliable, always exactly where you expect them to be? I am sure that others will now be scouring garden centres to find their own. The lake looks quite idyllic and Bald Eagles overhead only adds to the charm. All the best - David
ReplyDeleteI hope the two dogs enjoyed their lakeside walk and coped with the heat. In the very next photo, their two faces look a bit exhausted ha ha
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! And the dogs are adorable!
ReplyDeleteI must say Erika, I love those stone owls and the pretty blue bird bath and the petunias, so pretty, the lake view and very exciting to see the eagle. Your dogs have sweet faces, very expressive. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
