My pages aren't necessarily exciting today, but here's a little journal play.
Some things I think worked for me, and some didn't. But overall I am happy with these pages.
Even more so, before I started this journal back in the spring, I would have been afraid to try a lot of these views. I'm come to be ok not only with experimenting, but also when the page doesn't exactly work out. And I love having a journal to record some of the things in life.
Yup, the rear view mirror is upside down.
Glad it is Friday, although I must say this week has flown right by. This has been a very fast month for me. Usually that first month of school drags, but not this year.
And it is suppose to crisp and cool this weekend which sounds nice. I am ready to wear some sweaters.
Not tons on my weekend agenda either.. With the hubby's surgery next week, I know he wants to get the boat put away. I'd like to bake a cake, make some art, take a couple of walks and do a little sewing or knitting.
Lets see what I actually accomplish.

ReplyDeleteGoodness, Erika. I feel your stress and frustration as you prepare for this surgery. I hope the school gives you time off to be with him in Boston as he goes through this day.
ReplyDeleteYour journal shows how you are coping right now. It may feel like you are doing OK art wise, which you are doing superb, BTW, but emotionally, I can feel your worry and fear.
If nothing else, I'm sure you and hubby will deal with the boat. If you bake, that will relax you. If not, it won't be the end of the world. Let's hope for a fun and relaxing weekend going into next week's operation.
I love how your pages tell things about your life. Hope you get to relax a bit in the weekend, and that hubby's surgery will go smoothly!

Erika, your art journaling is serving a real purpose as you go through this scary time. It's beautiful and meaningful and gives your hands something useful to do along with the sewing and baking. I will pray that the heart surgery goes well and the transplant can happen in the near future. You also are in my thoughts and prayers, Erika.

ReplyDeleteI don't journal at all, but if I did the art journal concept is what appeals most to me. The way you are able to fill out the bare text is impressive.

ReplyDeleteYour pages are great! It's good to experiment, and to not expect every page or piece to work out as we imagined. It's the documenting of our lives that make these journals interesting and precious, and less how well or pretty the page turned out, although of course it's always nice if it turns out the way we want it :). I'm ready for my jumpers too! Hope everything goes well with the surgery!
ReplyDeleteThat scene with the beach umbrellas makes me sigh. How I love those colors and that "image" of umbrellas and warmth. It's starting to feel like fall here -- lots of rain and cooler temps. No real color yet, unfortunately, but it will come, just late. I long for those summer days!
