It's October

Hi everyone. Happy new month. October has arrived, and we're already at month 10 of 2021. Wow.

I want to once again say thank you to Wendy for being a wonderful Art Journal Journey host last month. I also want to thank all of you who joined us with your great vintages pages. There were so many wonderful journal pages submitted to the challenge. Vintage was a fun topic, wasn't it?

As usual we have a new host for the new month. For October I want to welcome Tracey of New Beginnings...Creating in My Corner as host. Her theme this month is

MY FAVORITE COLOUR IS OCTOBER

This should be a great challenge also. For me, autumn is always at its full beauty during October here in New Hampshire.

My first page for this seasonal challenge started with a leafy gelli print that I then stamped some autumn leaves onto.  The vintage car with the cats  is an old image from my stash. I used to make a lot of cards, and I am trying to incorporate some of those card making stamps into my journal pages.

That image is colored with markers, except for the sky which is watercolored. It was stamped on white paper and fussy cut.

I added a few bits off my work table, as well as making a block with the word October stamped on it. Then I finished my page by randomly sprinkling and gluing down some gold sequins.

Do you like October?   My month will be busy with lots of birthdays, a wedding, some foliage viewing, hopefully dry walking weather, Halloween fun and even my 33rd wedding anniversary. I'm also ready to pull out some light weight sweaters and my jeans, but I must admit, I am always sad to put away my sandals.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I hope you're inspired to join us with your art journal pages for Tracey's challenge at Art Journal Journey. Remember, we only accept journal pages, but they can be of any format. No cards, tags, ATCs, dimensional projects, etc. please!

I also noticed that my page also works for the new challenge Country View Challenges. Their new theme is Halloween or Autumnal Colors. I will be linking up there also.

Have a great start to this new month!

  1. Wow, Erika, you pulled out all the stops on this page. You were a stamping demon. That's a good thing, of course. That image of the cat, pumpkins, sunflowers, and truck was amazing. I could never color anything that well. Loved reading about your month ahead, too. Thanks for this great first entry you shared with us, dear.

  2. What a great display of October Erika like a little scene on that grungy gelli print background. Those kitties look like they've not a care in the world, that may change when the rain comes hee hee!! A month full of events and memories for me too, so looking forward to seeing more.
Happy Creative October Hugs Tracey x

  3. Ingo went to the market, full of joy, cooked his pumpkin... we buy local and we had such a bad summer... he threw the pumpkin in the bin (compost).

I have two Birthdays here, too, Niece and Bro :-) And my T! Hups, thank you for the reminder!!!

Yes, always sad to put away summer clothes for good for such a long time.

Your page gave me a smile none the less :-) Cute car!
    And also with "B"INGO, LOL.
And the cat, awwww, hope to see our neighborhood-cat again, haven´t for too long!

  7. Very fun page, Erika. I love your old truck with the pumpkins and kitties. YOur extra table bits and background are wonderful.

I totally love October - it the first chance I really get to be out as Alabama is so hot and muggy in the summer and there are too many bugs for me. Even though we don't have a lot of color changes here as we have so many pines, there are bursts of color from the trees that fit themselves in. We may take a drive up North to get some better views. Would be great inspiration for my art journal!

  8. A lovely page Erika for Tracey's theme at AJJ. I love the Gelli print and the car image is lovely. I always think of pumpkins as being an American image, no idea why as our shops will be full of them shortly for Halloween. Love the cat!
    Hugs, Neet xx

  10. fall is my favorite month... it feels like fall here finally. Of course it's returning to the 80's this week... in Colorado that's different from other years. I like the background print, and the focus of car and cat both!

  16. You captured Fall in New England. Leaf peeping, apple and pumpkin picking. The sequins remind me of frost. Love the black cats.

  19. Happy October to you as well, Erika, and it is my favorite month! It sounds like you will have a fun and busy month with all those events and an early congrats on your upcoming anniversary too. I already pulled out the fleece, sweaters and jeans because I did not mind bidding summer temps goodbye at all.

  20. I like your October colors :) Happy Anniversary! I'm wearing long-sleeved T shirts and have traded my bare footed habit for footies. Cozy, but my feet prefer summertime ;)
