Wednesday Art

Hi everyone. Happy middle of the week to you.

Today I have a page for Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's challenge at Art Journal Journey. This month our hosts have picked 2 themes: Collage Fodder or Food. (Or you can combine them both.)

It wasn't specified who the food had to be for, so I went with this dog's dream meal.

I measured and then drew the bones. They were painted, highlighted and outlined. The dog is an Impression Obsession stamp. I thought his bandana would also work as a napkin tied around his neck.
All this was glued down onto a Gelli printed page that I had in a pile of backgrounds and partially done pages. You'll see more of those partially finished pages as I finish them for this month. Thanks Elizabeth for this chance to clean out a bit of the piles.

I titled my page with a play on the word bonanza.

I know 2 dogs who would be very excited with such a big pile of bones.

That's all for me.  Today is not going to be an easy day for me as I'm meeting with my brother to complete some "chores" that need to be done. Sadly, Mom passed yesterday.

Thanks for visiting.

  12. Erika, my heartfelt condolences to you and your brother. No words are really adequate at this time so just know you are in my prayers. I'm relieved she didn't linger long after that last stroke and she is in a better place now. Please remember to take time for yourself whenever you need it. I hope your meeting goes well.

That page title is genius and your design and elements are so colorful and happy. As you know I love puns and this one had me clapping when I read it! XOX

  13. Erika, our deepest condolences go to you and your family on the passing of your mother. It's always a sad time when a beloved family member passes and even more so when it happens near a holiday time. I know as my mother passed away right before Christmas. Hope you and your brother are able to get everything done that needs to be attended to as it can be difficult.

  17. I am SO sorry to read about your mother's passing, but I knew it wouldn't be long once she couldn't swallow. I know things will be hard for awhile, so if there is ANYTHING I can do, just name it.

That is a clever take on food, Erika. I love the background. I was impressed that you measured all those bones, too. Of course I always love a good play on words, so that title had me laughing. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at AJJ using Bleubeard's and my food theme.
