Folksy

Hi everyone. Happy weekend to you.
It looks like it's going to be nice weather which is always welcome, even though a quick shower would be nice to help out with all the pollen. I just hope those bees I see flying in and out of the hive are collecting a lot of it (pollen).

Today I have a fun junk journal spread to share at Aimeslee's challenge at Art Journal Journey. By now you probably know her theme is flowers.

I think I've also finally finished sharing my junk journal with you.

You can see the roses plus the other flowers in the bunting images.

I used some magazine paper and some images, all from old FLOW magazines. I also used a bit of an old Japanese book as well as some punched out buttons.  Finally I made a border around the page with a white pen.

And to wrap up my post, let me share some spring views. The other day I went with a friend to Bedrock Gardens, which is my local botanical garden.

The horses aren't at the garden but at the farm next door.

Have a great start to your weekend.

  1. At Bedrock Botanical Gardens, the arches over the footpath are beautifully covered with vines. It doesn't look a difficult task, so it would be one I would love to try at home, along the driveway on the side of the block.

  2. Sweet page. The girls remind me of the Russian nesting dolls. Love the sculptures in the garden especially the gazing globe. I hope your weather is as gorgeous as down here.

  5. I love that page -- it's just fun! And I have to say, I like the northern gardens much better than the Southern! Maybe it's that moss....makes me claustrophibic! Give me those pretty spring NH trees any day!

  9. Hope your holiday weekend is a good one, Erika, but unfortunately, there's no rain in the foreseeable forecast at least not here in Nashua. We enjoyed our one and only visit to Bedrock Gardens a couple of years ago and after seeing your photos here, it may be time to revisit.

  17. Botanical gardens are magical places and always worthy of a visit, and financial support if needed. They are both educational and therapeutic and that sounds like a great combination to me. Enjoy what's left of the weekend. Hugs - David

  19. Erika, I just love Scandi FolkArt! Very cool design, love it. Love the buttons and roses as well. And what a soothing, peaceful sanctuary you live so close to. Love the entry way, reminds me of our big old oak tree canopies down here. Hope your weekend was good, xoxo
