Time to Bloom

Hi everyone.
May has arrived and hopefully, for all of us in the Northern Hemisphere. that means spring if it hasn't already arrived in your part of the world. Spring has been slow in some ways and quick in other ways to arrive in New Hampshire this year, so I am hoping May will even those both out and I will able to enjoy a beautiful season.

And before I babble too much, I want to send big thanks to Valerie of Bastelmania for being such a fabulous hostess at Art Journal Journey this past month. Her geometric challenge was not only fun but got me seeing shapes all over the place. And so many of you linked up some really great art too.

And for May, we have a new designer. Mia of Craftartista is our new  Art Journal Journey hostess and for this month, it is all about FLOWERS.
Who doesn't love flowers?

My first page is created with some simple painted and crayoned flowers, a light ink spray of 2 shades of blue, a stamped quote and some of these cool dragonfly stickers.
I hope you like it.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
And hope to see you at Mia's challenge too!

  2. Oh wow, Erika. I love how you painted those flowers. I wish I were that talented. They turned out great. The background is nicely done, and the dragonflies are an added bonus. Such a great way to start the month of May using Mia's theme at Art Journal Journey.

  3. Thank you for popping in my blog, Erika. We are celebrating spring here. Weather is cool and normal outdoor activities are not possible for corona although usually we really celebrate it on streets and parks as our greatest spring fiest.
Your page is beautiful and perfect the topic 😍
    Happy weekend and May 🐝❤️

  4. A beautiful page for Mia's theme. I love your hand drawn flowers and the lovely colour shades you added. The dragon flies look so delicate and of course I like the quote.
Its hard to realise that we are in May and the fifth month of the year.
    Stay safe and well.

  5. Super deep purple flowers, Erika. They are very like a clematis I have which flowers maybe early June, so this is an early reminder of it. The dragonflies are so realistic.

  6. That's a lovely sprayed background that you have used to set the stage. You have drawn some ever so pretty violet flowers and i love those dragonfly stickers. They look to have translucent wings.
A lovely way to greet the new challenge.

  9. I love everything about this... the elements, the composition, the colors, the quote. The dragonflies are lovely, and the flowers look 3-dimensional to me with the yellow centers seeming to stand out on my screen.

    Perfect for May Day!

  10. Flowers are LOVE! We don;t have a lot of flowers here in our country especially here on our city so even the smallest flowers and orchids make me super happy! The colors you chose for this art is so beautiful Erika, Purple is one of my favorites, and my Mom's ultimate fave!

  16. Yes, that was I who linked you. I had intended to link Mia first, but forgot and linked Yvonne, then you, then Mia, then me. Sorry for the confusion. I'm always awake at that hour, so no problem. You don't need to publish this, it's just easier to let you know here, than get into my e-mail.
