Falling in Love

Hi everyone. The last 2 weeks have flown by, and it is time for a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday.

With Valentine's Day within the next 2 weeks, we are asking you for your love filled art for our  newest challenge . This latest challenge is Falling In Love

Lisa is a sweet young woman, and she has just met Jeff.  Lisa and Jeff were actually  connected  on a TH photo card, but I wanted Lisa to be dreaming of her new acquaintance with whom she has fallen instantly in love. When I cut and disconnected the couple on the card, Lisa had a big hole on the side of her head.  I fixed this by giving her this head full of hair. After cutting the couple apart,  Jeff's face looked great but his body looked a little weird, so I just used his face in the heart because Lisa just can't keep thinking about him. She might think his body is pretty hot too, but she is keeping that secret to herself for now.

I couldn't get the black plastic word to show up in my photo, but it says wonderful. That's Lisa's opinion of Jeff at the moment. Let's hope he thinks the same as she does.

I started my page with red and white sparkled tissue paper. Then I added Lisa. Besides painting her hair, I gave her a pink tie dye dress, a pink bow, and also a small metal heart shaped charm that I turned into a necklace. The little cupid is stamped because he has obviously shot his arrow into Lisa's heart. The plastic wonderful word is really ancient, a scrapbooking piece I had from the late 90's I think.

The big heart is a light cardboard piece from a package I bought last year at Hobby Lobby.  I stamped the roses are red poem over it multiple times.  I cut a heart out of large paper doily for Jeff's face, and then I added some white paint pen dots and some chrome silver paint dots.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration art on the Try It On Tuesday blog.  There's some wonderful pieces there. You don't have to make a Valentine, just think about falling in love.

I am also linking up to Valerie's Heavy Metal challenge at Art Journal Journey. The  chrome silver dots look like metal and also the heart pendant on Lisa's neck is made of metal.

Thanks for visiting. It is always appreciated.

  6. What a story, Erika. Poor Lisa has a hole in her head and Jeff's body looked weird so you cut off his head. I did go back to see if I had read this correctly. I really like the way you have made the background to this interesting romance and Jeff looks quite happy inside his big red heart (and that does sound a little strange too). It's a great story and entry for the theme.
