May Is Winding Down

 Hi everyone. Happy Thursday.

This week's been busy, and I've also been trying to get some final outside chores done (other than the dreaded never ending weeding), so if I haven't been by your blog and  you've commented on mine, let me apologize before I go on any further.

As Saturday is the last day of May, I want to share my penultimate page for Neet's It Must Have Wings challenge at Art Journal Journey. Today's page is from my envelope journal which I've mentioned before.

For this page I used several fussy cut or punched out images as well as some sewing machine stitching. I also used a metallic paper moon and some marker around it to represent it shining.  I stamped the quote, which I think is from the same Impression Obsession set as the lunar moth. I stamped the moth on clear acetate and cut it out.

This is my first week with 2 mornings of work at the boat ramp. Monday, being a holiday and finally being sunny was quite busy. The morning was mostly fishermen, and then locals who put in their boats for the season. There were also a few pleasure boaters too.

I really loved the blue skies against the shadow and greens of the mountains.

Over the long weekend my husband took the winter plastic panels off the screen porch. I washed down all the screen  doors (which make up the walls), and then he put those clean screen  doors up. I still had (and have) cleaning to do out on the porch  so I can use it.

But I did get some flowers planted in the pots on my back deck.

I needed a couple more bags of soil for my veggie planters, which I picked up yesterday, and I still have to put them in and plant the rest of my veggies. We have rain today, so that will chore will have to wait. Hopefully tomorrow I can get out and do some of these chores.

Most of these plants in the greenhouse  are either veggies (still waiting to be planted) or flowers that went into the pots on my back deck. But on the left you can see the size of the potatoes I started, as well as parsley, beets and carrots. I need to move the rest of those pots outside too.

That's all for me. I hope you had a wonderful day or rest of your day, depending what time it is that you stop by.

Your preparations at the house remind me of when I had a cottage and all we had to do on the first visit in May. Many years ago now! All the best - David

That´s a good motto, but I have to study today (public holiday).
Cute page, though!!!! So warming, too!
Ohhhhh, ad the lake-views! And your porch- happy times rolling in!!!
Yes, need more soil, too. No car > carry on foot.
Fish-patty in the air-fryer right now, that back to studies.... Hugs, enjoy!

You have been busy and it shows and looks fabulous! I bet you can't wait till the porch is fully settled. It reminds me of our lake porch with all-screen walls. Lots of very good work, Erika! And the view from the boat ramp is great.

Oh Erika, thanks for another lovely entry for my challenge, 'it must have wings', at Art Journal Journey. I love the rays around the moon, I had no idea they were made with markers, they look stitched to me and I thought that's what they were.
The quote ties in all the other images within the bounds of your page, the moon, the chair, the clock face and with that frame (and the lunar moth of course) makes a cohesive design in your envelope journal.
Love the tranquil photos of the lake and can just imagine how peaceful it must have been down there watching people putting their boats out.
Looks like the restful day came to an end and jobs at home took over. How lovely though to have your porch back to normal where you can sit and read when not so busy.
Thanks again for your lovely entry.
Hugs, Neet xx

You have gotten lots done and everything looks nice too. Love your summer time screened in area-looks like a great place for reading a book or taking a nap too-smiles.
Pretty spot for your job. Today more rain all day-and tomorrow begins our warm up-finally. thinking the lake will busy this weekend since boaters were not able to enjoy the lake over the holiday weekend. Kathy

Wow your porch and garden look great. Hopefully, I'll get a couple of sunny, dry days this coming week so I can move all the junk out of the sunroom so it can be cleaned. Didn't this month just fly by?

Lovely art. I absolutely love the orange. Beautiful photos of the water, but you know what I like best of all. Your garden!!!! What a nice clean area. I so wish I could put some rock in. Well, my landlord. LOL Can't wait to see how your garden grows.

That's a great layout for the tall skinny page. I rarely see those kinds of moths, if ever. Wow, you've been working a lot this past week. I forget how much work it is to open and close the porch. Thankfully the veggies are in the greenhouse and not the garage, lol. Our big aloe vera had to winter in the garage and was so heavy Honey propped it up first place he could which ended up making it lean to one side by the time he moved it back out. Thankfully we have a big long growlight in there. Hope you can get it all done and not exhaust yourself! xoxo

You definitely have more energy than I. I love your moth journal page. It is beautiful. So well done, too. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us at AJJ and Neet’s great theme.

I know you can't wait to get your summer room ready. I don't envy you that chore.
