T Stands for a Second Look

Hi everyone. Happy September. And hello to everyone who stops by for T at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog. Since I'm posting Monday evening, I hope if you are in the US or Canada you celebrated a Happy Labor Day holiday weekend.

It's been busy at my house, but this past weekend, the poor hubby hurt is lower back. He's been miserable and  uncomfortable. 😟 Plus  he’s one of those patients who can’t get out of their own way. 😱 That meant we weren't able to get out in the boat at all either, and he's also just as miserable (rightly so) not being able to have much fun this long holiday weekend.

Since this  month the first couple of days are busy posting days for me (a new Art Journal Journal Journey challenge, a T Day post, a Second on the Second post and a new challenge at Try It On Tuesday), I am going to make today's T day post also my Second on the Second post. For T day you just need to share a drink, and for Second on the Second you just need to repost something you've already posted.

Let me take you back to September 4, 2023. That day was my last day of Lake Hosting, or as I usually call it, working at the boat ramp. September 1 of this year (or today as I am posting this Monday evening) was also my last shift for the year at the boat ramp. I've checked over 450 boats in the last 3 years.  I thought I'd celebrate the completion of  this year being a weed checker/ Lake Host by sharing this post again.

Here's the link back to 2023: T Stands for Lakeside Mornings and here's my original post.

Today (as I am writing this on Monday night) was my last day of my summer Lake Hosting job. You might remember I've mentioned my summer job and showed photos a couple of other T days. I am ready to  be "unemployed" again 😏, but I will  go back next summer if it works out.

Last week on Monday and Tuesday mornings at the lake we had a lot of fog, and that fog made some dramatic photos. Let me share a few with you.

The spider webs on the ramp's boat dock were much more visible.
And no spider either.

The fog moved (like Carl Sandberg's poem states) on little cat feet. One moment it was so thick you could barely see.

Later the sun tried to burn through the clouds, and that took quite a while. If anyone saw me in my fleece shirt, sweatshirt as well as being wrapped in a blanket, they would probably think I was camping there. The dampness was really chilly.

The sun was trying to burn it's way through.

And then the fog would thicken up again.

It took a bit, but eventually the sun burned through the clouds and the day brightened.

Since it is time for T and I need a drink photo, I staged this view later in the morning when the sun and most of the clouds had cleared up.  Here's my drink ticket for T this week at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog.

Today  (September 1, 2025) the boat ramp was chilly first thing in the morning, but definitely not foggy. I'm glad to have completed another season, especially since the summer ended with busy morning. I hardly got any reading done-Ha Ha. πŸ˜‰ The  parking lot was filled before 10AM. Plus there were people who have homes on the lake pulling their boats for the season.  I think today was payback for all of the quiet days I had this season. 😏

Wishing everyone a wonderful T day and week ahead.

That spider web is out of this world. Of course my favorite now and I'm sure back then, also, is the bird on the post in the fog. Great photos and wonderful second look, dear Erika. And of course, thanks for sharing your diet Coke with us then and now for T.

I forgot to wish you an almost over happy Labor Day. And I hope your husband is feeling better by now.

All photos taken here are great. You must be a proffessional photographer to shoot or take of those photos. I love it

Suffering from back pain is not a joke...I hope your hubby gets well soon. Use some heat and ice packs on the back area...switching between them, you know, one day ice, one day heat. Try some herb spray and ointment for back pain...

This is funny - I found a Charlotte in our toilet in the upper corner and you have her web!
I love fog - thank you for sharing those beautiful pics!
Have a great T-Day, hugs

Spider webs will hold an eternal fascination for me, I believe, and with practice one can identify some families by the nature of the web. Many are very distinct. Just yesterday Miriam and I were thrilled with funnel web spiders. And I marvel at their strength and efficiency and I am very grateful on behalf of hummingbirds everywhere for this vital nest building material. Long live spiders! All the best - David

I'm sorry your hubby hurt his back. It's very painful and frustrating. I hope it gets better soon.
Your photographs are absolutely stunning! The spider's web and the fog photos. Even the dew drop is spectacular.
It's good you were so busy at the last job. The time goes quickly when you have lots to do.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

I love those foggy mornings! But it's definitely chilly if you to be out there. I hope your husband will feel better soon - hurting the back is painful. And it sure wasn't funny that he couldn't spend the holiday the way he wanted to because of this. However, I hope you will still have a few opportunity to take the boat out on the lake. Happy T day!

Great photos, but the weather wasn't exactly great. It's a shame that your day was ruined!

Great foggy morning shots, Erika, a reward for having to be up early. Sorry to read about your husband’s back pain that sidelined being in the boat and hope he’s feeling better soon.

I love the shots you took of the fog. We didn't have any fog along Winnie in Laconia last week. Not that I remember. Maybe it happened early in the morning before we got up. We had clouds, lots of clouds and the weather every 10 minutes was predicting rain. It didn't rain and the sun would come out around 6p just in time to set. Happy T Day
