Hi everyone. Happy new week and T day to those of you who stop by with your drinks. You might have noticed I've missed T Day over at Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog for the last couple of weeks. For those of you who don't know, my husband, the 2 dogs and myself took a giant roadtrip to Nova Scotia. Neither my husband nor myself had ever been there, and it was as beautiful as we'd thought it would be.
Here's a map for those of you who may not be familiar with the area I'm talking about. I added the red line and green circles which are a rough estimate of our trip. The green circles are in the general area of places we visited (and in some cases stayed) and the red lines are our general route. The red dots are places we stayed.
Before we went to Nova Scotia, we spent a couple of days in Maine. We did that because we took a ferry that went from Bar Harbor, Maine across the Gulf of Maine over to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Originally we had planned to just go to Bar Harbor for a night so we wouldn't have to rush there on the day we were catching the ferry, but then I suggested we go up a day early and stop over in Belfast, Maine. I love Belfast because to me it is quintessential coastal Maine without being too crazy touristy. I have been antsy to go back there for a visit for awhile now. (Belfast is the lower green circle and Bar Harbor is the upper one.)
I'll fill you in on the ferry in another post, but for T today I'm sharing a few views from Belfast. The top photo is one I took while we were having dinner the evening we arrived. I'm sharing dinner further down in this post. The next photos are harbor views the next morning.
If you wonder why I have so many harbor photos that's because one of my husband's favorite things are boats. When we go someplace where there is a harbor we are always taking a spin through. 😏
As you probably have already guessed, one of my favorite things is art. There is a shop in Belfast that I love to visit when I'm there.
One side of the store is all about fabric. They had their Halloween fabric out, and I had to just walk by it, no looking, 😞. (OK, I did take a few peeks.) Otherwise I could have bought a bunch of material I don't really need. The other side of the store has art supplies. I only took one photo of that side because I was too busy looking at all the various media and materials. I still had to remind myself that it was only day 1 of the trip and that the car was pretty full (we did have to keep room for the dogs to stretch out), so I settled for a few replacement markers, a new Staz On ink pad and a roll of book binding tape (because mine is almost gone). But I could have spent a lot of money in that store. 😁

For breakfast on our morning in Belfast we went to this cafe where we have eaten before. The walls have these fun murals on them. I might have shown photos of this cafe a couple of years ago for T day, but even if you don't remember them you can see the cup of coffee so this works as a T day drink.
For my actual T day drink this week, I'm going to share where we had dinner. It's another place we have been to before. It is called Marshal Wharf Brewing Company, and they have a really big and tasty beer menu. (Not that I had beer for dinner, but I had beer with my dinner. 😉)
They are located right on the water so we had a great view of the sunset from our table.
And they allow dogs to come in too. This is kind of a weird shot of Mr. Pete.
Here's my T day drink photo. My husband decided on one beer, and I couldn't decide so I had a flight.
For dinner we both had a grilled cheese sandwich, and instead of chips I substituted some clam chowder. It was a tasty dinner. 👍
I think this post is long enough, so that's it for me. Wishing everyone a happy T Day and week ahead also.

...that mural should wake you up!
Good evening, I really enjoyed your vacation photos. That is so nice that you can bring your pets with you. That did sound like an awesome craft-art store.
Hugs Kathy
They have a great selection of beer! I probably would have chosen either the Hefeweizen or the Schwarzbier - the flight was a great choice! And skipping the chips and having clam chowder instead is wonderful as well. Happy T day!
I enjoyed seeing the boats and the harbor at Belfast. SO unlike anything I would normally see. I want the Sea Level Stout, but I'm glad you ordered the flight. When I go out with friends who order the flight, they always give me the stout. They don't understand why I love the boldness of it. So glad the dogs were welcome at the restaurant, too. Thanks for sharing Belfast and your evening meal and beers with us for T this almost Tuesday, dear Erika.
Love that colourful happy mural!! Did you try Kölsch? It's a very popular local beer from my city :-)
I love harbors and boats, too :-)
And weeeee, that store. You were pretty "strong"! Nice place with the furniture and murals. Hmmmm... Pale Ale! (OK, 05:43 a.m. might be a tad early for that ;-)...)
Hehe, Mr. Pete! Your flight looks good!
Have a great T-Day, hugs! Oh, and than you for the waterfront-pics, like a mini-holiday!
That was a great trip, and the photos are fantastic. The harbor always interests me, and the craft shop was wonderful—it was something for me, too. All the nooks and crannies, like the cafe *wow*, beautiful murals, and the dinner looks delicious—it looks like it's with the dogs and husband!
Thanks for bringing me along.
hugs Elke
Great pictorial of your trip to allow us to admire the beautiful scenery, noting quite like a fishing and boating village for the scenery it provides and can almost smell the sea air. Been to those parts just once and very briefly when we touched down to refuel at Maine.

I love harbours too as I grew up in Rotterdam. I love seeing all the boats especially the tug boats, watching the pilots go out to the big ships and I love the smell....
Craft shop! Whoopee! You have been very good and self disciplined, buying very little.
The Marshall Wharf Brewing Co looks like a great place to eat. And so much choice of beers. I think I'd go for a stout but on the other hand, a flight like you had can also be interesting. That way one can taste new beers.
Looking forward to the next installment.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
Great coverage of this charming coastal town. Until recently I had no idea that you could get a flight of beer. We were visiting my daughter and stopped at a pub on a hot day and neither my daughter nor Miriam could make up their minds what brew they wanted so they shared a flight. That’s how I learned about it. My son-in-law knew exactly what he wanted and I am not a beer drinker so I had a shandy. It was cool and refreshing. Your clam chowder soup even looks delicious in the picture. All the best - David
Lovely trip
This is great, Erika. I wonder if the original habitants of Belfast came from Ireland? That one shop looks very dangerous! Love the restaurant and what all you ordered. And I can resist a marina or port. Loved the boats. Your weather looked great!
Oh my gosh, I could kick myself for not remembering this sooner, but I'm betting this isn't your last trip to Nova Scotia, so you can see it then. There was a wonderful folk artist from there named Maud Lewis. Sallie Hawkins and Ethan Hawke made a fabulous little movie about her life in 2016 that you can find and stream, called Maudie. There's a Maud Lewis Park in Marshalltown on Hwy 1, just past Brighton. They've preserved her little Painted House, too. From what I read, she's a Canadian treasure. I love her paintings. She was an arthritic cripple but she didn't let that stop her. The movie is wonderful and stayed true to her real story. XOX
What a fabulous place. Great shops. I want to go there.
Such a lovely post.
I did enjoy seeing all of your photographs and thank you for including a map ... it was appreciated.
All the best Jan
100 percent I can relate. We have a local fabric joint here and I haven't gone in to see their Halloween back when they brought it out because I just don't need it. I still have some from two seasons ago. And if I go see it, I'm toast.
Happy October! Oh what a lovely post! make me miss the East Coast! Wonderful and very beautiful. Love the murals and food and boats and fantastic photos! Lovely!
We visited PEI last year, but didn’t include Nova Scotia, so we obviously need another road trip! Enjoyed reading details and seeing photos of your trip, Erika. The clam chowder and grilled cheese looked delicious😋
I love harbours too and always walk around looking at the boats and their names. So nice you got to spend a little bit time at the art store. That clam chowder looks amazing and what a lovely view too.

Looks like you had a fabulous trip and great weather too! Loving the weird photo of Mr. Pete, looks like he was something interesting on your table top ...lol 😆. Sorry I didn't make it to T Day and thanks for stopping by none the less, much appreciated! Take care and happy belated T Day wishes! Hugs, Jo x
