T Stands for Celebrating and Hanging it Up

Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. And also I want to say hello to everyone who stops by for T Day at  Bleubeard's and Elizabeth's blog . This is T day's 12th year celebration! πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³πŸŽ‚ More about that at the end of this post.

Last week was a busy week, but one thing I'm  celebrating is some new or rearranged garden decorations. This past spring I bought this ceramic moon for my garden at Costco, and it finally got put up  this past Saturday. πŸ˜€ I had a  metal sun hanging on my husband's workshop behind my garden, however, the sun was copper colored, and it didn't really show up very well against the dark wood. I think the moon looks great on the workshop's dark wall.

And now the sun has been moved onto the end of the house where it shows up great and is much more visible.

You can see where the sun was hitting it because it looks shiny. It actually is all that shiny finish, but depending on the light, it doesn't always look shiny. This photo also makes me think it's time for the house to get stained again. Oh boy. I suppose all this will have to wait until the hubby retires. 😏 Either that or we'll have to get someone come and do it for us.

But those weren't the only things that I finally got put up.  I bought this wind chime last fall at an end of the season sale. The bottom is glass, and it's heavy. I finally remembered to get a heavy-duty hook for it so it could go up in my screen porch.

And also, one of my bird houses fell down when the rope that was holding it broke.

When I bought the hook, I also got some new rope to hang it. I did a terrible job lining up all the string, but by the time I did this job the mosquitoes were horrible, and I think I got 5 bites while doing it. I was standing on a step-ladder so I couldn't swat the bugs and hang the birdhouse. 😏 In frustration and a rush to get away from hordes, I just quickly wrapped the string and then picked up the ladder and headed inside. Maybe one of these days I'll go back and fix the string.

For my T day drink this week I have some photos from our family July 4th celebration. Since it was a celebration,  I have  party food and drinks. πŸ‘ And since today is the 12th year of T Stands for Tuesday, let the party begin.

You can't have a birthday party without cake. Would you like a piece of lemon sheet cake with lemon frosting?

One of the nieces saw this idea on Instagram to make a Snacklebox. You take a fishing tackle box and instead of putting fishing lures and hooks in it you fill it with snacks.  You also need lots of finger food at a party too.

I'd never had one of these pink and white candies before. They are called Squashies, and I liked them. The niece had tried  them on a trip to Scotland, and when she found them locally she decided to add them to the box. I think I ate half of them because I really liked them. 😏 (And so much for healthy eating-grin.)

In this photo you can see the candy coordinated with my drink cup. Hee-hee. And yes, it does look like an eraser, doesn't it?

For the party we have festive party cups.  Pick a color and fill it with your drink of choice. πŸ˜€

I hope you have a super T day and week ahead.

PS- my ATC's are in the mail for those of you who I am swapping with! ❤

Love the Snacklebox!I want one in my craft room. LOL. Your post is a great celebration for TSFT. I missed the announcement, as it must have happened while I was on hiatus. I would have done an ATC swap! Oh, BTW, I like both your suns.

That moon is GORGEOUS. You found a real beauty. I don't remember the sun sitting on your husband's shed before, so it really looks great on the house.

Aren't the mosquitos terrible this year? I haven;t seen this many in several years. Sorry to read you got bitten. I bought some Off and put it on before I go outside to water in the morning.

Your new bell is beautiful. One thing I don't need is another wind chime (grin).

What a party you had. Love the snack idea. That was clever. Of course, I really want a piece of cake! And my drink of choice is any diet caffeinated drink. I need caffeine 24/7. Thanks for sharing your new outdoor art pieces and your party with us, including drinks, for T this week, dear Erika.

Your garden and your garden decorations look fantastic. I tried to put up decorations but the wind either blew them down or broke them. That cake looks so good and the snacks.

I love how you made the garden updates feel like little celebrations especially the shiny sun and that adorable wind chime!

The Stickleback idea is so fun, and those Squashes do look like erasers! What a joyful way to mark T Day's 12th anniversary

Your moon clearly is a she. Both are beautiful!
Oh, our balcony would need some staining, too. Some day...
I got a real fat bug bite. Inside... I think.
Well, I´d left your party hungry ;-) Cheese is a great snack, too (OK, maybe not in high summer, outside)...
To celebrations, hugs

Surely the moon is more beautiful than the sun you had!
Your husband has a lot of work ahead of him in retirement! Wonderful party for 12 years of TSFT?
That's when you realize how quickly the years go by!!
The photo with the glasses in front of the lake is wonderful!!

I am sure the birds won’t mind if the string is left the way it is. The important thing for us all to know is whether the birdhouse was occupied and by whom. All of our nest boxes have occupants this year - Tree Swallows predominantly, followed by Eastern Bluebird, House Wren and Black-capped Chickadee. Happy days! All the best - David

I really love that moon hanging! Looks like you had a wonderful July 4th celebration with lots of yummy things! Don't you know that Summer calories don't count! LOL I'm sticking with that! I need to try out a snacklebox for myself! TFS!

Dear Erika,
That ceramic moon is absolutely charming πŸŒ™ – it looks perfect on your studio wall! You're right, the copper sun didn’t quite pop against that background, but it shines beautifully now in its new place 🌞.

As for repainting the house wall – well, you could say it’s “shabby chic” and totally trendy πŸ˜„. And maybe save the time and money for something more joyful, like traveling with your husband once he retires! ✈️πŸ’‘

I’m more than happy to celebrate with you – your snacks, the cake, and the drinks all look delightful 🍰πŸ₯‚. The pink and white sweets remind me of little marshmallows – did they taste like them, too? If all goes well, we’ll soon get a chance to roast marshmallows ourselves (not a big tradition here in Austria, but there’s an upcoming event where that’s part of the fun πŸ”₯😊).

Sending love and a joyful T-Day to you,
Traude

That moon -- Wow! Four stars! Five! Ten! Fabulous. And I like the sun and all the others, too. That snackle box is a terrific idea -- I'll have to remember that. The July 4 gig looks like such fun. The cake -- yum!

Why yes, I'd love a piece of lemon sheet cake, please ;-) Yum!

Nice that you got some things hung up and/or moved so you can enjoy them.

Love that moon, it is utterly gorgeous! The sun was nice and looks good on the end like that but I can see how it didn't suit the dark wood. Such gorgeous curly shapes and I can well imagine the shine to it.
I had to smile at the wind chime. I bought one not long after we moved into this house and it made so much noise when the wind was high that a neighbour threatened to cut it down (in humour) so I did take it down for his sanity.
Love the cups and the fishing box idea. Lemon cake please - a large slice if that is not too rude.
Hugs, Neet xx

Sorry I'm late. As you can see from tomorrow's (Friday) blog post, I've been on holiday.
I love the sweet box. And those sweeties if I remember well, they are marshmellow-ish, soft and squishy. Very nice. I'd eat the whole lot given half a chance!
