Hi everyone. It's already another Friday, and we're into the double digit days of July since today is the 11th. I'm linking up to Nicole's Friday Face Off and also to Gillena's Friday Lunch Break. I thought I'd share some random water related photos from the last 7 days for my post today, many of them with faces.
My first photo with faces are all these rubber ducks. One of the vehicles parked with a trailer at the boat ramp this past Monday morning (when I was working) had these silly waterfowl on their dashboard. It's not a super photo because I couldn't get very close and there was a glare off the windshield, but I think you can see these ducks. I can't imagine what it's like to drive with all that dashboard distraction, but it's a fun collection for certain.
It was also a pretty view that morning at the lake, and I was thankful for the clouds because it kept it cooler.
A week ago last Friday, it felt more like September than the 4th of July. There was a brisk wind and there were even whitecaps on the lake at my Mother-In-Law's home when some of my husband's family got together for the holiday. Sadly it was not a good day for swimming, but we all still sat around on the dock and had some extended family time.
With the wind blowing the temperature barely reached 70 degrees F/ 21 degrees C. Here's a not so happy lake goer. My daughter was bundled up and still unhappily cold. 😏
Then by the end of the weekend we were back into the heat. On Sunday it was about 92 degrees F/ 33 degrees C. You can see those of us still around spent some time in the water. What a difference 2 days made with the temperature.
While sitting and de-wrinkling on the dock after a long Sunday afternoon float, I noticed Mr. Pete had crawled behind our chairs and dug himself a hole. I forgot he was there, and when I got up and I saw him, my first thought was that there was a black bear cub there. OK, it only took a second to realize it wasn't a bear cub, but look at his snout. Can you see why I thought that?
And here's a few other faces and views from the week. This first one is one of the catbirds that spends a lot of time hopping around the boat ramp keeping me company.
Here's the view out of my windshield Wednesday morning when I was at the lake working.
By the time the drizzle eventually stopped it was almost time to go home. Other than a few walks around to stretch my legs, I spent the morning in the car. The only boat I had wasn't even really a boat but a little float that a fisherman could sit in and paddle about with his feet while he tried catching some fish.
I think my husband and I are FINALLY going to go on our maiden 2025 voyage in his boat today. We've never been so late putting it into the water, but between a spring full of rainy Saturdays and a few other things it's taken him forever to give it the big spring clean he insists on doing. Bon voyage to us, I hope.🤞
Have a great Friday and start to your weekend.

All of those ducks strewn across the dashboard make me think that there might be grounds for a law against dashboard distractions! I can’t imagine driving with all those in front of me. Have a great weekend. All the best - David
We have had also unusually cold sprin last week; now is forecasted even hot weather👏😄
I'm wishing you the most lovely weekend ahead my friend 😘🍒🍨
Bon voyage and have fun, Erika!
...a beautiful lake, but like Adirondack lakes it might stay cold until the end of summer.
I'm sorry about the weather, but glad it perked up before you left. Methinks you got a lot of reading done in the car that day! I don't think I could handle dashboard ducks. They're cute but I'd put them in the back window!
Yes, wind coming off water can be surprisingly cold, can't it? Photo #2 is a lovely shot of the dock and beautiful lake and sky behind it.
Erratic weather everywhere it seems ~ Beautiful photos of the mixed weather ~ thanks,

Talk about having all your ducks in a row! LOL Wonderful photos by the lake! I sure wish I could be "miserable" like that! LOL Have a wonderful weekend!
Gosh, the weather is just behaving as it pleases
Thanks for sharing and for linkingbto AFFF
Happy weekend
Much♡love
We both have a Jeep vehicle and not a single duck between us and we've seen vehicles with similar dashboard displays, just not inclined to follow suit. Hope you get to go for a maiden boat ride or two this weekend before the hot weather returns next week. The lake photo looked very peaceful and your daughter did not look happy to be so chilled.
I'm cracking up with all those ducks in a row. Oh yeah weather come visit me ha ha as your know the weather is always cold here. This is truly a lovely post. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a great weekend.
The ducks are fun. It's a thing with Jeep owners. When they see another Jeep, they leave a duck sometimes with a note have a nice day. Gotta love New England weather. Roasting one minute and freezing the next. Looks like a fun time at the lake. It's a little gloomy here this afternoon. At least it's warm and doesn't feel muggy (yet) I hope you have sunshine.
Your weather sounds as weird as ours - one day hot, the next day cooler with a chilly wind. I don't like anything on the dashboard of our car except for the GPS. I really can't imagine driving safely this way. Enjoy your "maiden voyage"! Hugs - Carola
We used to have a friend who had a dashboard filled with stuffed animals. I actually love the photo out your windshield. I hope you can go out in the boat soon! Have a great weekend.
Hoping you were able to get on the boat. we had a pretty warm and very busy 4th of July but Memorial Day weekend was very cold and rainy so it ruined a lot of vacationers and those that open up their lake homes for the summer.
I was happy a quiet lake haha
Water photos are much welcome and so refreshing. The ducks are ridiculously funny.

Great idea marrying a man whose mum owns a lake side home. Attractive and restful!
And people get upset with me when I don't wear a seat belt. I can't wait for this ducks to go flying when the owner has to hit the brakes really fast.
Yes, I can see why Pete looked like a bear cub. Hope you have a great weekend, dear.
Did not even realize there really is a catbird? Cool! Hope your maiden voyage was fun! P.S. - hope you got my explanation about our turtles, if not let me know. xoxo
Ernie with his Rubber Ducky comes to mind... Just yesterday I found a similar one. Of course, Lions.
Beautiful lake-photo. Sad you had such cold weather at the gathering.
Oh, but the Sunday looks great!!! Weee.. "a bear-cub" ;-)
Hope you had and have great times on the water, hugs!

Your weather temperatures are all over the place!
Ours here in the UK are TOO HOT!
Hope you and your husband get to go on your maiden voyage of 2025.
All the best Jan
You were right about the monarchs. It's the swallowtail caterpillar that loves my dill.
Your spending time together looks like so fun, even at feeling are september. We have'd also unusually summer with rainy days - right now warming!
You said "whitecaps" and we said "rabbits in the lake" so nice!! Have a great summer!
I love those ducks in a row but wonder if they are stuck down with something or are they in danger of falling off and causing further distraction? Perhaps not the best place to have so many.
Lovely family time, even if DD was all wrapped up one day. It looks lovely the day afterwards when you got in the water and poor Pete, yes, I can see why you were startled for a moment.
Hugs, Neet xx
