Hi everyone. Happy Friday. Yes this is post #2 for today because when I publish the month's first day post introducing our new host and challenge at Art Journal Journey I like to keep that post only about that challenge. However, it is Friday and I want to join Nicole's Friday Face Off and also Gillena's Friday Lunch Break so I have another short post here with some faces to join those challenges.
This past week the only art I worked on was some I can't share yet, but I realized I haven't posted much from my envelope journal that I made back in the spring. The entire book except the covers are made from some large envelopes that had been used for storing papers so they had writing on them and weren't any good for actually mailing things in. I folded them in half the long way, cut off some of the bottom part to make them a manageable size, and created a journal using them.
I picked 3 pages to share today. They all have faces. This book is not only about envelopes but also about the grunge look, so I hope you enjoy them. (Because I know not everyone likes the grunge look. 😏)

...Erika, we have to face it, August has arrived. Have an awesome one.
I think they are lovely, esp. the first one!
I really love this envelope journal idea and I quite enjoy seeing the pages you create for it.
There's some botanical here on the second and third pages.
I must say i love that third one. The red background reminds me of an old door and it looks like a cheeky kid, up to mischief is standing there. Perhaps he has picked the flower for his mother from someone's garden.
Hugs, Net xx
That books. Sigh.
Awesome pages ~ wonderfully creative!

Some wonderful face pages today Erika! So glad you're still sharing from your envelope journal! I love that idea! Those blue drops are super cool! Wishing you a wonderful weekend ahead my friend!
Fun pages - I love especially the last one!
Wonderful, hugs, to a new ... creative month!
Very cool journal and pages.
Wow! These are just magnificent. I am very impressed. Thank you for sharing these with FFO and have a very nice weekend.
Have a super duper Friday!
Your faces are wonderful. I like all if them. That "Home" stamp is one I used to own, but gave to my neighbor. Obviously I'm not playing today, but I should have, I guess.
An envelope journal sounds like a very interesting idea and yours looks really good. I do like the grunge look here, it fits those envelopes. I hope your August will be a lovely and happy one, Erika. Big hugs - Carola
Using old envelopes is a brilliant idea, and the "grunge look" really adds character to the faces. Each one tells its own story. It's inspiring to see how you turn everyday materials into such unique art.
I quite like a bit of grunge.
