Hi everyone. Happy Tuesday. I'm back today because it's time for another challenge at Try It On Tuesday.
Thank you everyone who joined our Make It Magical challenge. I know it might not be our easiest challenge to come up with ideas for, but those of you who joined really rocked the topic.
Our newest challenge is perfect for August. This time we're asking for all your summer inspired art. Our challenge topic is pretty straight forward; this time the topic is SUMMER.
I chose a page from a summer themed journal I am making. I decided to go with more finished looking pieces for this page. I started by using some printed paper that I adhered to my green background paper. Then I edged it with red ink.
I die cut the lady on her floating tube using a beach set from Concord and 9th, and then I colored her in. I framed her with a frame from 49 and Market. I finished by adding a gold paper sun, a tab and finally a sunscreen sticker, that I colored in.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the design team's pieces because there's some great ideas and art pieces. Although I think getting ideas for this challenge will not be difficult, you should still take a look. 😏
This challenge runs for the next 2 weeks. I hope you'll make some summery art and join us at Try It on Tuesday. And if you make a journal page, you could also join Chris at Art Journal Journey for her Hot Summer (Day and Night) challenge. I'll be linking up my page.
Thanks for visiting.

...enjoy summer, it doesn't last forever.
Wonderful page Erika! There are so many Summer themed elements for this one! The framed floating girl looks very relaxed under the sun! Those papers are so fun with this!
I love how you created this page Erika, your bathing belle looks as if she has just won a beauty competition, fantastic inspiration.
I am also enjoying what now seems to be my weekly catch up here and loving seeing your art and photos.

What a fun piece! It truly captures the feeling of Summer in a beach. Thanks for your visit to my blog, and blessings!
Oh my gosh, Chris! This is incredible! I adore your die-cut lady in her fabulous bathing suit, relaxing on her floating tube. She’s the perfect image for a hot summer day. And the way you framed her and added the gold sun and sunscreen sticker is just genius! Everything comes together so beautifully! Thanks a bunch for the inspiration, my friend! Hugs, Sharon
A wonderful page full of summer images, love the beach themed background for your sunbathing beauty, she looks so relaxed floating on her tube.love how you've framed her and added the little embellishments. Avril xx
I really like your aj page, Erika, the background reminds me of a huge beach blanket. Your hot air balloon page is also very cool! I'm posting here even though I've caught up on your posts. Wow, you guys sure have a lot of patience with machines. Honey would have gone to Home Depot by now to buy a new one. We had one of the first front-loader washers/dryers back when they came out, like early 2000's. They were expensive! Like $1K a piece. Learned a big lesson there. They both broke down after only a few years with only 3 of us to wash for. Honey went and bought the cheapest Admiral washer for like $398 and the cheapest Kitchenaid dryer for even less. Still working great today (knockwood). Congrats on the tomatoes and gorgeous wildflwer garden, and I'm so jealous of your cool temps right now! xoxo
I love this summer lady, Erika! Great for our challenge at Art Journal Journey.

Super page Erika for the Tuesday challenge and for AJJ challenge too. i love how you have found some great paper for the background which sums up summer entirely. Your lady looks perfect lying there on her rubber tube reminding me of you relaxing at your mother in laws by the lake. Not that ~i have seen you like that.
Hugs, Neet xx
