T Stands for Cold and Snow

Hi everyone. Happy new week to you. And a big hello to everyone who join Bleubeard and Elizabeth     for T day.

Last week was a bit tricky because even though I had a couple of fun days out, the rest of the week I was dealing with winter weather in one form or another.  First it was snow and the shoveling that came with it. Next it was some very cold temperatures. Friday morning when I got up it was -3 degrees F or  -16 degrees C. Brrr. We did have a bit of a warm up over the weekend, but even that came with some snow flurries and dark skies. It seemed like we skipped December completely and time jumped right into January. 😏

And now we're back in the deep freeze again. 😨

Here's a few photos I snapped while outside in my yard during our snowy day.

Did you get a chance to see the super moon which made the nights so bright? When we went up to bed one night I spied Pete standing in the doorway looking outside. All the downstairs lights were off, and yet it almost looks like daylight outside.

The wintery weather was a great reason to be inside and get my holiday decorations up. I love when the house is decorated for Christmas as it seems to take the edge off the early darkness. Here's a few photos, including my T day ticket.

I picked up a new garland for my fireplace mantel at Michael's awhile back. My other one was still in good shape but it had that fake ice crystal covering, and I was really sick of having to clean after putting it up. And never mind still finding those ice crystal crumbs come March. 😉 This one looked great but seemed a bit dark so when I was out I picked up some colorful fairy lights at Lowe's.

I picked up this retro tree at Costco a few years back because it reminded me (fondly) of the one my grandmother had. Now I think of her when I see it. The snowmen are old and were gifted to me.

And finally I did up my hutch with some assorted dishes and other servicing pieces that I've collected/ been gifted over the years.  And ha ha, if you look carefully you can see a couple of cobwebs on my light fixture in the foreground.

I zoomed in because there's lots of T day related items on my hutch, and that's this week's ticket to T. (Sorry for the slight blur to the photo.)

That's it for me today. Wishing everyone a wonderful T day and week ahead.

Oh Erika, that photo of Pete. That's a treasure. I loved every image, though. Your home looks beautiful. I love your fireplace and mantel. It's an interesting design and I love the brick with multiple tons. And is that stone on the side and the chimney -- gorgeous. Your hutch is wonderful and I know why you love your Costo tree that reminds you of your gran. What a wonderful post.

-16C. Whoah that is cold! 12C right now - 53,6F. Wow on you moon! Sweet Pete enjoyed it, too.
Cute tree - I had one like that but somehow lost it! Many greetings from Charlotte, huh - her webs are everywhere!
Have a christmassy T-Day, hugs

What a gorgeous photo of Pete. One that deserves framing. No I didn't see the moons. Due to the position of my house, I can't see the moon from my window until deep in the night (when I'm in bed).
It's lovely to see your decoration. I'm putting up decorations too. I do a little bit each day. I might take some pictures on Friday.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Your home looks beautiful and festive. Those ceramic trees bring back memories for me too--my aunt made them for a while so my mother and grandmother both had them. My mother's was white with green lights. Enjoy the festive season, Erika!
