Hi everyone. Happy weekend. This past week was crazy and not the most productive blogging week since I was in court for a few days. No, I didn't do anything wrong, but if you hadn't read my T day post, I was selected to show up for jury duty selection on Monday. That took most of the day, and it was a lot of sitting around. I did get selected for 1 trial, which happened at the end of the week. Of the 2 trials this judge was seating people for, it was the shorter one, and so I'm glad I was picked for that one and not the longer trial. Plus now I have done my duty, and I am done with jury duty (at least for the County Court) for the next 3 years and maybe never again. 😏
I've never been called for jury duty before, and it was an interesting experience. Some of you asked what that entailed. I received a summons in the mail telling me I had to report at my country courthouse for jury selection. The 150 or so people called were then split into 2 groups. I'm guessing the other group had a similar experience, but it would be in a different courtroom with a different judge.
Basically our names were put in a hat and pulled after the judge told us a bit about the case. If there were any conflicts and your name was pulled, you could approach the judge as well as the lawyers for both sides and explain why you couldn't be on the case. If you didn't have any conflicts, or if your explanation wasn't accepted, then you were seated on the jury of 14 people. (At the end of the case 2 of these 14 were people were randomly selected as alternates and did not deliberate once the trail ended.)
This was repeated for the second case my judge was sitting a jury for. I was put on the first case, which was a shorter one. Luckily they were able to fill the jury for the second longer case from the people who didn't get picked for the first case. And since my case was scheduled only for the past Thursday and Friday, I am now done. I'm also glad it only really involved 1 week out of the month and not the whole month. 👍 I feel for those of you who may have had longer jury duty times.
I also want to apologize if I didn't get around to your blog for the last few days or if it took me several days to get around to it.
Here's some art.

We don´t have anything like jury duty here in Germany. Now is that good or bad?
To your art! And playing tourists! Thank you for sharing!
One time I´d like to visit your country! (just where go to????).
Have a great Saturday, hugs
I hope it was not a murder case :-) Sorry, have been watching too much crime stories, etc. Boston looks very modern and huge...gosh, all those giant buildings..
Lovely photos and beautiful art. You have tremendous talent. 👏
Oh, we do have jury duty here in Montreal, Canada. I have never been called for this.
Glad you got through jury duty. I have never been to Boston and love seeing these photos. Sorry you got rained on. I agree that $10.00 a day for parking is cheap. Looking forward to seeing more photos. Have a good day.
...jury duty was too interesting for me!
Wow!!!!
Stunning buildings
Happy Sunday, Erika
Much love
Never been called for jury service, but Daughter was and loved it, she said a case she could get her teeth to! Lovely your journal page, so much interest.

Miriam was selected for jury duty a couple of years ago and enjoyed the experience. So far, I have avoided it! All the best - David
That does sound like an interesting experience and good for you! I was never called and I am past that age now. I enjoyed your card and the process. Very pretty! Your photos were great also. Sounds like a fun day with your daughter, apart from getting wet but even that can add to the fun. Thank you for another great post Erika.
What a great day -- despite the rain. I love your photos here, and especially the artsy ones! Glad you weren't on a long jury!
It sounds like a very interesting experience, even if it took up a lot of your time. I'm glad you were assigned to the shorter trial and that your jury duty is now behind you. Thank you for joining my theme at AJJ. Your piece of art is very interesting 🥰
Love your page! The colors and the name...awesome. I've been called up twice...the first I had a newborn so I was able to defer. The second was my first week back into the workforce after being a SAHM. I never had to serve...only call in each day.
