Hi everyone. I hope you're having a nice weekend. and if you're celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend, I hope you're having some tasty food and good company.
We've gotten a bit chilly at my house the last few days, but no frost yet. Today at some point we're supposed to get some rain moving in. Not enough to fix our drought, but anything is needed at this point.
Let me start today's post with another journal page for Elle's Steampunk, Halloween or Steampunk Halloween challenge.
The background is a scrap of some printed paper as well as a steampunk gear-style stamp background image. Then I added the sticker on the top right corner. It's one of a couple I have left on an ancient Making Memories sticker sheet. I colored in the skelly face on it. Then I added the house, the candles and the 31 images. I added some yellow paint to the candles and to some of the windows in the house. I think the yellow candlelight makes the house even spookier. 😈
And I'm linking up these autumn photos with Gillena's Sunday Smiles.
Friday morning it was crisp (37 degrees F/ 2.7 degrees C) at my house, but there was no frost. The dogs and I had to be out for an early morning appointment so I took them up to my Mother-in-law's house to go walking afterwards. It was a lovely morning to walk.
Not only did the sun make it beautiful day, but even the moon was still out.
At 37 degrees (F) it was a little cold for the bees to come out, but lately when they are out they have been hungry. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a batch of bees as hungry as these. Whether it's this hive or whether it's the drought making less food available for them I'm not certain.
I can fill these jars at 7:30 in the morning and by 11 they are empty. Keep in mind how small bees are and how little food each bee can transport. That's a lot of hungry bees.
And even with the October chill in the air, I have one very pretty day lily still blooming.
That's it's for me. Have a great rest of your weekend and start to the new week.

Beautiful autumn sights! I agree--the yellow in the windows adds a spooky vibe--you never know what or who is lurking inside that house :-) Enjoy your day!
As always an entertaining post Erika, the punky journal page offers so much interest and the candles add a lovely eeriness.
No frost here yet, but not far away, down to 3deg last night with heavy fog.

wow that house looks so spooky! Beautiful weather you have over there, Erika. Continue enjoying the colourful autumn.
Your weather sounds like ours -- chill mornings. I love your beautiful walking area. That's just lovely. And good to see the bees again. I hope all this food helps stock them up for the winter (they hibernate, right?). I want to see the first jars of Erika's homegrown honey! When do you put them to bed for the season?
A wonderfully creative journal page!!!
It looks so beautiful in autumn at your place. *wow* They're so hungry, it's great that they can satisfy their hunger with you!
Have a good sunday!
hugs Elke
...Erika, I hope that your hungry bees make it through the winter.
The house on your page reminds me of the Bates Hotel. Mrs. Bates? Can Norman come out to play? 🤣Yeah, your color looks about the same as down here though you have more red maples. The maples peaked about 3 weeks ago so no really vibrant colors this Fall. That daylily is so pretty and delicate. Doesn't sound like you're going to get much out of the Nor'easter. That's not a bad thing
Wonderful Autumn-sights and ohhh, your bees!
I have two posts today and one is for you, LOL... hugs (I could not resist!).
Lovely page! We are celebrating Thanksgiving today with family.
What a beautiful, crisp morning you had! Seeing the sun and the moon out together is always a treat. It's fascinating how active your bees are; you must have a seriously hungry hive! Hopefully, things will get easier for them as the season progresses.
What a gorgeous, crisp morning walk you had that photo with the moon still visible is stunning. It's also fascinating how busy and hungry your bees are this year. That high traffic is a great observation about how they are working to overcome the effects of the drought.
A lovely journal page and beautiful photographs.
All the best Jan
Beautiful fall photos and a truly spooky aj page. The yellow does make the house more hauntier, but I noticed the house goes across your spine/gutter, does it fold? Is my OCD showing? heehee Well, I guess we've got that El Ninya happening now until December. I know you've been worried about drought, now we are too. xxo
There is nothing more agreeable than a walk on a crisp fall morning in eastern North America. One of life’s great joys to be sure. I just returned from my England where my walks were characterized by a damp, raw feel. You feel the chill more at ten degrees there than at two degrees here. All the best - David
Such a fabulous Halloween Journal page, Erika. Love the Fall pictures in your post too.
I am interested to learn that you put out food like this for your bees - that is fabulous that you do that and totally amazing they go through it so fast. We all probably need to be feeding bees. I would do it super far away from my house though.
I saw your comment on my post about how life is treating me. Thanks for asking. We are doing good. After hubby's hip surgery, he is doing so much better. Now with the weather getting better we are both doing better too (it is just too hot for us here in the summer).

Oh wow that is such a very cool haunted house!! I love the bits of yellow in the windows which makes it seems like an eerie candle glowing! LOVE that the weather started to cool down a bit and I love your photos with the foliage!
Sorry to hear about your drought, I think we have everyone else's rain, and I for one am happy to share! What is that you are feeding the bees? Honey or sugar in water?
I really like your page, especially that big 31, great big numbers, an interesting background and a great spooky house. Love the little skull in the corner and those candles. Thanks for joining in with my theme this month, elle xx
Beautiful Autumn 🍂 colours.
Beautiful moon. Luv your photos and your journal page
Thanks for linking to SundaySmiles

A fabulous page with a real spooky house in the foreground. I agree the candles are. Great. And add even more of a spooky atmosphere to the whole picture. Love the skelly at the top ed up to. and the 31.
Gorgeous photos of your walk and of that day liliy.
I’m in hospital so can’t join in with doing my jeidi journal. Such a shame but my right arm is so swollen andd my left is hooked up to an infusion.
I’ll pop in when I can but it’s doctors, doctors doctors or physios or tests that fill up your day.
Hugs Neet xx
