T Stands for What's Been Going On

Hi everyone. Happy new week to all of you, and a happy T day to those of you who join Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T day.

I'm taking a break from travel posts for this T day. I'll be back to them sometime during the week.

Lately we've been having some pretty nice autumn weather, and finally we are getting a tad bit of color. Like in many places, we need more rain though. We are in a severe and in some spots even an extreme drought, and we need to get more rain before the ground freezes.  We did have some rain today (Monday), and every little bit counts.  Still, I'm hoping the rain gods decide to send some more our way.

What's new with me? Not all that much. Last week besides yard work and some walking I built a Halloween Lego wreath which was a lot of fun. Now I just need to figure out where to hang it.  😏 I also made an apple pie.

Instead of making a plain upper crust on my pie I used star shaped cookie cutters and made one a little more interesting.

We  also had to get my husband's boat moved out of the yard at the marina where we keep it during the summer. We had to tow it about an hour away to my mother-in-law's house where it is stored for the winter.

You may have read (and may remember) that a few weeks back my husband's truck was totaled when an out of control motorcycle slammed into us. (That post is here if you're interested: An Autumn Weekend.)  We didn't (and still don't) have any way to pull the boat because my husband doesn't have a new truck yet, but luckily our son-in-law could borrow his grandfather's truck and come help us out.  His grandfather (whom I've met several times) is almost 91, still mentally and physically with it, and a funny guy.  Thanks to both him for lending Zach the truck and thanks to Zach who took a day out of his weekend to come out and help us out.

My mother-in-law's home is on a hill and in the woods. The drive way is long and narrow. The boat had to be backed down part of the driveway because there is not enough room to turn it around at the garage where it gets parked. It was Zach's first time doing it, but with some verbal help, he did it! 😀

Ha ha. I just like this next photo of Pete. I told him he had to stay outside when I went inside of the house for a few minutes, and he stood looking up at me through the door. Once I walked away from this door he went around and stood at the glass sliding door watching me.

After the boat was moved we took my daughter and son-in-law out for a late lunch/very early dinner at a nearby restaurant.  My daughter and I both had a hard cider as well as a glass of water, and these are my drinks for T day this week.

For my meal I had this grilled cheese style sandwich with crispy pork on it (and onion jam- it was delicious) as well as a side of baked beans. It was yummy.  And since  we ate so late, I didn't need dinner, but a  slice of the apple pie I made with a scoop vanilla ice cream made a nice treat later in the evening. 😀

This post is long enough, so that's all for me. Have a super T day and week ahead.

I would love some of that apple pie! Yum! And aren’t you artistic making a star studded crust for you pie? And making a Lego wreath! It is so cute, too. I am happy for you getting help and getting the boat put a way for the Winter. Happy T Day.

Please forgive me for being inactive these days. I’ve had a lot going on and couldn’t visit your wonderful blog or others I usually follow. I’ll catch up with your posts as soon as I can. Greetings from Indonesia

I am not a lego fan, but I must admit that Halloween Lego wreath is very unique and fun! You are so creative, Erika.

I love your lego wreath! And your apple pie woke up my sweet tooth - will it come with vanilla ice cream, too? Looks so great!
Yay for the help you got. And Pete, too cute and funny! Grilled cheese! And I have "nothing" to eat, over an hour till the grocery opens at 07:00... Onion jam, oh, yum! I know where to get that in Perth (never saw it here). OK, yes, vanilla ice cream :-)
Wishing you a happy, rainy day, hugs!

You told Pete he had to stay outside when you went inside of the house for a few minutes, and he stood looking up at me through the door. His sad but obedient face was to make you feel totally neglectful.

I am so impressed with your Lego wreath. Legos have really changed since I first saw them.

Those stars on your apple pie really make it unique.

You got a real keeper in the form of Zack. What a wonderful thing for him to help out like that.

I wasn't hungry until I saw your sandwich. Now I must find something to eat. Thanks for sharing your week with us and your hard cider and water for T this Tuesday, dear Erika.

Gad you got the boat where it needed to be and kudos to Zach for maneuvering in a tricky spot! Apple pie and ice cream--definitely autumn vibes there. Yum! Your Halloween wreath is very cute. I do hope you get some rain. It's thinking about raining here, but I think it'll be a few days yet before we get heavy rain.

Glad that everything went well with the move of the boat. I was away in England when your meeting with the motor cycle occurred so I was unaware of that. Quite an ordeal I am sure.Hope you get a hybrid or electric vehicle to replace the old one. All the best - David

You had a full weekend. I'm so glad you had help with the boat -- that looked like quite a job. Your pie looks fantastic. And I'd never thought of a Lego wreath -- that's really fun. It looks like a productive, fun time (once the boat was in!)

How awesome is your Lego Halloween wreath, I bet it took some time to complete and you had lots of fun creating it too 😊. Glad the boat is stored away safely for another year and I hope you are both ok after your truck got totalled. I'd love a bite of your sandwich and of course make mine a big slice of apple pie with ice-cream please - yum! Have a very Happy T Day ❤️. Hugs, Jo x

Your Lego wreath is amazing! It doesn't look like Lego at all, but then Lego has changed so much over the years.
Your pie looks scrumptious. Lovely to have it warm with custard.
How amazing that Zach was willing to help you (and his gramps to lend the truck). I bet that was a load off your hubby's mind.
Magners cider is lovely! I have drunk it many times (I love cider). I once had a Magner's cider when waiting at the airport. I was bored and on my own and went to the Irish bar for a drink. I asked for a Magners and they gave me a pint! (Nearly half a litre, way too much). I love cider and I wasn't going to leave half of it behind, so I drank it. I was a bit tiddly boarding the plane, lol.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Those Danish elves at the Lego factory really do think up some amazing sets! I also liked lego a long time ago when it was up to you to create from a big pile of bricks of various shapes and sizes!
