One of Those Pages

It has been a busy week here. Needing 2 days off makes me have twice as much work at work. Does that make sense? It doesn't completely to me but it is what it is.  But it was a beautiful day Tuesday when I went down to my mom's. We got the last of her house items taken care of, (Big Smile!) and it was great to be out in the sunshine (even if most of it was through my car windows) rather  than be inside a building. Plus I had a really nice visit with my mom! Today I am out of work again because the hubby and I are off to Boston to go see his kidney specialist.Hopefully he will have some good news and we will know a bit more about when the transplant can happen. I am also hoping we can walk around the city a bit  after the appointment.I have a hankering to visit the  aquarium. Not sure my hubby will be for that...but maybe I can twist his arm. Either way it is always fun to see all the holiday decorations and lights in the city.
So my journal page is one of those that looks better in person than in a photo.  I think the  background looks too busy, whereas in person the photo pops out a lot more than the background. I did cover the assorted papers with some pink paint which you can't make out at all here.
I also painted pine branches in 2 corners and then added some white snow paste. And there are a few white snow paste snowflakes too. I stamped some images on the background to pull it all together-but they are much more noticeable in person than in my winter light photo. The old photo was black and white (from a pack of old photos for collage I have) but I colored in the woman pulling the sled and the boy on the sled. The rest of it I left in the original form. Then I added a foam candy cane, a stamped date and some sparkly tape.
I am linking this post to Art Journal Journey. This month the theme is collage and is being hosted by Valerie. If you've never stopped by you should to see all the great pieces posted.
So that is all for me today. Another busy one ahead. Hope yours is filled with fun and joy!

I agree it does look busy, Erika, but it wouldn't be YOU if it wasn't. You have a way of putting many disparate parts together and then adding even more. This is a lovely example of that over-the-top fun I've come to expect from you.

Have a fun day in the big city. I also hope the news is good and his transplant team can set a date.

Hi Erika, glad you had a good day with your Mom, and got a lot dealt with at the same time. Love the journal page, that old photos is great, and the background sets it off really well. Good luck in Boston, hope all goes well, and enjoy the sights there. Hugs, Valerie
