Counting Down with a cough

This was last year. For my upcoming weekend in London-before we head across the Channel -we'll be staying in Bloombury.

This is a full page album spread.

Of course, pure London.
Plus, look at this beautiful face below.

This is an interesting layout I tried.

Will I feel better before we leave? I think not-of course. I wouldn't be sick if we weren't going away. Worked today though-came home and napped. Tomorrow I get to see a dr -took a full day to get an appointment-and see if this is just a chest cold or something more...so many people at work are soooooooo sick too-heard about another case of pneumonia.
Just 2 more days and then we're heading out. Friday is coming along very quickly. A change of scenery will do me good-that's for certain-for first we're in for some more wet and most likely white weather. Maybe I will actually do some art before I go...it seems like days since I've been in the studio more than to clean the litter box or get a pen some thing...I miss my art and I want to feel back to my old usual self.

Coughing and coughing

This cold is terrible- a doosey ( is that a real word or even spelled correctly?) but I do feel over the hump. Its nice being alone except for the critters, going to finish this book I started on Saturday- The Great Stink- very Dickensian.
We leave in just a matter of a few days- getting prepared in my head and need to get some things together later today- too bad being sick wiped out my weekend...
Here are a few more scrap pages for my London book that I finished up since Christmas. My pages are very journalistic and not particulary polished...but my style is a bit rough and tumbled and a bit messy...did decided what I don't like about the Sherlock Holmes page posted yesterday- its the read silhouettes in the background. I should take everything else and cover the page with paper and then put everything back down...will, most likely not. I do go between wanting things to be so perfect and finished and look so not like me- especially when I go online and look at pages other people do...but I must do my own style, and those are me. Plus, I like to make my pages fit the subject- these a bit cosmopolitan and grimy and Victorian...and it is a trip journal, not something flowery for every photo...oh, to have total self-confidence...someday I may get there-but I love my books so what does it matter what the magazines and the big companies trying to sell things say it needs to be like?

I'm sick

Ugh. I feel sick-still. Came home feeling icky on Friday and its been awful all weekend. I have this horrible cough-hope its not bronchitis. Wonder if the drs office is open tomorrow since for lots of folks its a holiday. I told Dave you can tell I'm sick since I haven't scrapped or done art all weekend or even complained about it. And we're off on Friday-I have to get better-ASAP.
These scrap pages are ones I took photos of when I took photos of the heart tags. Some of the latest pages for my London book that I wanted to finish before we leave, but that is NOT going to happen...I love the Scotland Yard page but I'm not sur the Sherlock Holmes page- I like it bit I don't like it.

Getting ready for the 14th

OK, finally took my photos and am ready to show you some of my recent art. I'm good to go for the next several days, so this should be fun for any of your artsy folks. These are some tags I made awhile back for Valentine's day. I love them.
Its funny how you get in a zone and want to do a certain thing-make Valentine tags or transfer photos or play with clay tiles...its fun and then you can use them later on for other projects.
So today it was in the 40's-just wonderful-although it did cloud in later and rain is coming, but rain, not snow. Rain is not so bad at this point. Long day tomorrow as I have parent back to shool night which means I need to be ON- and I'll be missing Katie's back to school night which isn't so good for me...but Dave will go for her. And tonight I worked on the cover of my travel journal-needs to be finish for next week. I will show you later once all the stickies dry...but I'm happy with it-got some very brand new Technique Tuesday Travel word stamps- just perfect for this cover.

Two of my favorite art pages in my London book- still need to take some photos. Came home today- I'm fighting a cold that Katie has and I didn't do anything besides take a nap and read my Bill Bryson book. I kept thinking I should go up and do some art, and my mind is up for it, but my body isn't having it. I'm tired. Been tired all day. I know when I get going I feel perkier, I did so at school, but why use up all my energy and end up really SICK? So I relaxed and maybe tomorrow I will feel perkier? Hopefully, me and my Zicam, vitamins and OJ.
Stay healthy...its great to feel good and you never notice it until you start to feel icky.

Weekend wrap-up

Still haven't taken photos of my latest art work-heart tags, Valentine cards and more London pages. Am getting along with my London scrapbook/journal-since I think that's more what I have than a traditional scrapbook.
Nice weekend-been fighting a cold...but hung out, got a few chores done, did get the Christmas decorations back into the attic and went through a bunch of bags of clothes. Also got out some items for our vacation-less than 2 weeks now. Scrapped, sewed, read...watched Vicky, Kristina, Barcelona too. Not a bad movie.
Last night Dave and I had a date to the UMO/UNH hockey game in Manchester and UNO won!!!!!!! A shutout. Had a great time.
Now its back to work in the morning...a busy week ahead but that's ok...in some ways. In other ways its too busy for my taste.
That's about it here!

Checking In

Its Friday evening and I haven't posted for a few days. Works been busy, nights VERY cold...me back in slug mode. But...I have been working on scrapbooking and trying to get London done before our next vacation-2 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure if that set of 3 notebooks will be done by then, I have so many photos left to do...but its not really a pressure item...just something that would be nice to do. Next week I am very busy after work and I'm out 2 nights so it may not happen..
Did you notice the skier in the photo above? (Thanks BBC on-line for letting me snag this photo and use it) It was London last Monday. There better NOT BE ANY SNOW when ew go in 2 weeks. I'll deal with cold-but I really want some 50 degree weather like last year- but I will not complain, I promise, if its in the 40's. Just NO SNOW please. Its been so bad here this winter and last winter I just can't take it.
Did anyone notice that Hero Arts came out with some new new new stamps this week- for pre-order. And they have one called C'est Chouette and once called Paris...what great timing for some fun French phrases and light hearted stamps. Kind of in that light hearted mood-maybe the weather, the economy, the times...
Found a couple of European stamping blogs that I have just discovered and have been reading all the way back to their begining...love to see what other people do. Here's the addresses:http://dutchstamptramp.wordpress.com/, http://herminesplace.wordpress.com/,http://blushes-emma.blogspot.com/,http://notkaz.blogspot.com/http://blushes-emma.blogspot.com/,http://notkaz.blogspot.com/. Check them out if you're a stamp addict like me. I love the traditional stamping methods (along with the new) so its great to see techniques and other people's styles.
Otherwise this weekend should be quiet- we got hockey tickets from a friend so tomorrow night we are going to see Maine vs UNH- and of course- we hope-Maine wins. Should be a good time...and the tickets were the right price..just need to get my friend dinenr sometime which I will gladly do...otherwise, need to do my chores and also want to have some more play time in my studio.
Have a great weekend- ours is suppose to warm up a bit --in the 40's Sunday which is a HEATWAVE right now.

Something borrowed but fun

I love to read Bookgirl's Nightstand and today she posted this cool little survey. So since she borrowed it from someone, I am borrowing it from her. Here's her blog address so you can check hers out too! http://www.bookgirl.net/

1-one book your currently reading-Neither Here Nor There by Bill Bryson
2-one book that changed your life-True Colors by Somerset Studio
3-one book you'd want on a desert island-Hmm, just 1?
4-one book you've read more than once-Gone with the Wind
5-one book you've never been able to finish-a Prayer for Own meany by John Irving
6-one book that made you laugh-Any of the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich
7-one book that made you cry- My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Piccoult
8-one book you keep rereading-How about almost any Agatha Christie mystery
9-one book you've been meaning to read-World Without End by Ken Follett or reread Shipping News by Annie Proulx or reread Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
10-one book you believe everyone should read-Time and Again by Jack Finny

these could change if you asked me tomorrow- since there are so many excellent books out there and I have a hard time thinking of them all...its called my middle aged brain and the fact that its almost 9 and I get up soo early in the morning (5 a.m.)-so much for my excuses-eh?

Its February

I must say the old cliche, where does time to go to? Its February-the end of the weekend-not ready for another week, but went to Freeport with Katie today and had a blast shopping at LL Bean and this cool bead store there-too bad it wasn't sunny but it was a bit warmer...well, like 28 degrees. Still a bit in my hibernation can't get motivated mood but it was starting to improve...a bit. Now I'm watching the superbowl-the Boss did an excellent halftime show and although it should be the Patriots playing- its Arizona and Pittsburg-pretty awesome Pittburg play for a 100 yard interception touchdown...wow. Had a Pat's Pizza today-yummy- thoug am feeling very overweigt lately- don't like myself being overweight but don't really like myself thin either...too small boned and too small chested and too HUGE hips even when I'm skinny. Too short for that type of body...I'd love to be beautiful...now I'm just whining. Happy new month!
