Weekender

Typical of the holiday season, life is crazy and busy. Art kind of gets put on the back burner, which is really bothersome, but then, there are so many fun things to do. There just isn't enough time in a day to do it all, is there?
Getting the hubby a big Christmas present. (Luckily a girls swim team was doing a gift wrap for donations so he doesn't have a clue what is in the box-seeing we sent him out to wait in the car).
Looking at all the colored lights and Christmas decorations when out driving at night. I love the blurry way the camera caught these lights.
And a fun hockey game-and luckily no flying pucks and no black eyes-even though our team lost!
And it was so GORGEOUS I walked with my daughter and the dogs both days. This is my dream house! Its this fixed up old farm house I pass along my walk.
And oh no, I was very very naughty. My daughter and I each had a small light dinner and then  we split this sundae. Or we tried.  We couldn't even finish it.
And I made my first batch of cookies. These are some yummy ginger cookies made with molasses, cinnamon along with fresh and candied ginger

Yummy!
And there were some chores this weekend, but this one was especially fun. I finally hung up this printer's tray I bought awhile back for my studio space and put in some of my little "things" I've collected on my travels and adventures.
I love the stories behind each piece.
So that was my busy weekend! Are we at the next one yet?

Sorry Erika, you have to wait a few days before you get to celebrate the time away from work. However, I thoroughly enjoyed your weekend, because it looks very busy. It was great that you were able to have the gift wrapped and didn't have to do it yourself. And I haven't seen a Bass Pro Shop since I lived in MO. I used to go to Springfield, where they first started Bass Pro. I can't believe they are now all over the country, although not yet in Wichita, possibly because Cabela got a HUGE tax incentive to build here.

I really enjoyed the ginger cookies, and my mouth drooled all over the keyboard when I saw that sundae.

Of course, I really liked the printer's tray you put up. I can only imagine all the tales these treasures could tell.
