Happy Saturday morning from a snowy New Hampshire. We're suppose to get 5-8 inches today, and there was a good 3 out there when I went to fill the bird feeders, and the snow is still coming down heavy, so I think we will get that.
Glad it is Saturday so I can stay home and deal with it from inside my warm and cozy house!
So I have another page for Valerie's challenge at Art Journal Journey. The theme this month is light and darkness.
Here's the photo that inspired my piece today.
I took this last Saturday when we went into Portsmouth to meet my husband's cousin and his wife for lunch.
I liked the lights and the red bow.
Lots of hand sketching and some painting , snowflakes stamped with white paint and a die cut wreath to really sparkle.
And how about a couple of rooftop views from the parking garage. Everyone was out shopping so we had to park on the top.
We ended up having a long lunch. Even though the sun does set early, its still doesn't set at lunchtime. It was going down when we finished lunch.
I'm planning on a "fun" weekend. The highlights include cookie baking, gift wrapping and art. I must say, I really need this kind of weekend. :)
But right now, as I write this, I'm watching the snow fall.
Hope you have a great weekend too.

Hi Erika, hope you enjoy your relaxing weekend. I'm going to stay home and rest tomorrow, too. Love your journal page and the inspiration for it, thanks so much for joining us at AJJ again. I like the view over the roofs you got, I think I would always want to park there.. The sun sets very early, here too, next week is the shortest day and longest night. Thanks for your mail, too. Hugs, Valerie
It is bitterly cold here, with snow flurries and so much wind, there is an advisory until noon MONDAY. I'm sitting in front of my heater at the moment and the temp on it reads 58 F. It's been on all night, and because my house is so old and has zero insulation, uddling is about all I can do. Hope you have a wonderful day, and enjoy baking and gift wrapping. I'm still not finished making gifts, but hope to be soon.
Your wreath on that journal page is incredible. The dies they make these days blows me away. Very impressed with your drawing skills, too.
Gosh, I like the rooftop view you shared. That is one incredible place. What a LONG lunch you must have enjoyed together. Happy Saturday and weekend. If you are lucky, they might cancel school Monday!
First of all - what a great header! - the colours, the light and the depth - wonderful.
How good to have snow on a non-working day. We have had hardly any cold weather to speak of.
I do like your candle, wreath and red bow - very festive.
Hope you are having a lovely fun weekend. and the snow doesn't get too deep. Its a fantastic journal page and so is the photo that inspired you.

We had a high of 73F today lol! But the low tomorrow night is supposed to be 16. Maybe we'll get snow :) I enjoy hearing about yours.
Beautifully drawn and painted. I love it!

Hope you had the fun weekend that you wanted Erika and got all you wanted done (especially some time for art :) and maybe some snowy pictures as well.
Fab idea for AJJ and beautifully created too.
Thanks for your lovely comments earlier too... Gill xx
What beautiful photos, Erika! I love the light in them! And I absolutely LOVE the gorgeous work of art you created for the December AJJ theme!
I really love your piece, Erika! Your inspiration was gorgeous but I think I love the colors and energy of your piece much more. Very nice indeed!
The day in Portsmouth sounds good. We did family this weekend too and it's always a good time. But a cold one!
And thanks for coming by the Gypsy -- I know it's a busy season for all of us and you've had more than your usual on your plate! I love your visits. We've been gone and catching up.
Keep cozy!
